Twelve Kingdoms/Juuni Kokki fanart!

The Queen of Kei and her Kirin. Youko discovers that there's no hiding from royal duties with Keiki around.

I'm sure Keiki secretly adores Youko, underneath all of that exasperation and those admonishing sighs. Despite her unconventional nature, I know he's glad that he picked her to be the Queen of Kei.

Work has been kicking my ass, and I find it hard to draw anything outside of the studio. I've been watching this series in the background so I find myself doodling it from time to time.

I can see how people can be deterred from this series if they just watch the first couple of episodes. I myself was really doubtful of it. The characters all start out really annoying, and the story can get slow at times not to mention depressing. But if you stick through it, really, it's a treasure, and I'm glad I did.

All of the characters went through some of the best character development I've ever seen in a story. Each and every one of them has such depth, even the villains. The world itself is so rich and engaging, it won me over. Youko went from a cowardly, unsure girl to a take-charge and kickass Empress.



It's kind of refreshing after seeing often stereotypical character types in anime these days.
