One of my favorite pairings in the Elementshifter world ^^ Chemical and Cain (Delmar's father)

Cain adores Chemical so much. And he believes Chemical is capable of anything and is afraid of nothing. And Chemical loves his little lost wolf and acts like his moral guide and pillar of support in a world of obsessions and voices in his head. Cain does manage to ruin their relationship though as Chemical refuses to create a child with Cain. Without thinking of whatever reasons Chemical had to refuse him Cain starts cheating on Chemical in his quest for another mind reader psychic and a kid. Chemical loved Cain very much and was completely heartbroken the day Cain proudly showed him Delmar's soul embryo. To Chemical didn't Cain just show him a future kid but he proudly showed him he had been with someone else.

He found Cain in one of the darker corners of the library. Cain sat on the floor with his back facing Chemical and with a pile of torn out papers around him.

“no. no. no…” he repeated systematically and tore a page out of the book and throw it over the shoulder.

“Cain…”  Chemical started but forgot what he was going to say. “You're going to get yourself banned from the library if you'll continue like that.” Cain turned around, by the sight of Chemical his eyes started to tear.

“Chemical.” he dropped the book recklessly on the floor and threw himself over Chemical in a tight hug.

“I can't find it!” he cried into Chemicals chest.

“What can't you find?” Chemical tried carefully to bend up Cain’s hug to release him.

“My kid, it's gone! It’s not in the wolf pack anymore.”

“Maybe, it couldn't survive? Maybe its mother killed it?” when Chemical was free of Cain he picked up the book from the floor. Almost half of its pages were torn out. It was an index book of all found and registered shifters.

“What are you doing?” Chemical asked.

“I'm looking through the scout reports to see if anyone have found a wolf in that area.” Cain answered and wiped away some tears from his cheek. Chemical closed the book to look at the date it was written.

“Cain, this book is from before you even created that soul embryo…” this was so typical for the phsycic. He had probably started with the latest book and worked his way backwards, as he got more and more frustrated and obsessive he had probably forgot to check the date of the books, question was how many books had he destroyed like this?
