My Bio

I was known a long time ago as Darth Avathar, but a betrayal took me away from the roads of the Dark Side, and, after many epics, I became the DaiShogun of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Helmets for long ears. A challenge in design.

Helmets for long ears. A challenge in design.

One thing that really surprises me in the comunity of fantasy artists is the lack of funtional helmets for anthro/half-animal characters with long ears, like rabbits or hares. I mean, there are a lot of designs of helmets for characters like these, but they have a big fatal flaw. Image made by the user Jotaku All of these helmets have two enormous holes for the ears, wich will cause some big problems. Problem one: The most obvious. The ears are really exposed and are an easy target to attack with a weapon. Even if it's not a fatal wound it would be a lot of pain for the person, and maybe blood in his/her face. That will be a distraction that the oponent will exploit. Also, the ears are vulerable to beign grab by the oponent. Problem two: The top of the head has virtualy no glancing surface, or the glancing surface redirects the attack to the ears. The metal between the ears is too narrow in the FFXIV examples, so all the force of the blow will go down to the neck, or, if the

Redesigning Simon Belmont

Redesigning Simon Belmont

Simon Belmont is THE protagonist of the classic Castlevania games. Appears in a lot of games, wich 99% of them are remakes of the first game... but anyways, he always had this sort of barbarian look, for some reason, except in one case. Lets take a look at all the designs of Simon (no, I will not put an image of the awful version of Simon in the cartoon "Captain N"). The original barbarian Simon: This is the original Simon, which we can see in the covers of Castlevania and Super Castlevania 4, and is basically Conan the Barbarian. Oh, and the cover of the first game is based on an ilustration made by Frank Frazzeta called "The Norseman". T
