Oh
My
God

I can see that your Backalley photo was not a fluke. Once again I am transported to Southeast Asia. The relative cool of the morning, as the sun as still rising. The calmness of the water broken only by the fisherman and the duck. (Did you wait for the duck to enter your field of view?) The many shades of green, the trees nicely reflected in the water. The village in the background.

I wonder if you used a color filter on this. If you did, you certainly picked a good one. The overall tone gives this an air of nostalgia. Of time worn tradition.

The angle of the camera, remarked on my Gfiti, is low enough to give a sense of immediacy while high enough to give us a good perspective on the scene.

The farther view of the trees and water has an almost surreal look, one reminiscent of Japanese woodblock prints, perhaps by Yoshida. Now that I think of it, this scene would have been a perfect one for such a treatment.

I am so thankful that I caught your Backalley photo, and then saw this on the "More from" pane on the web page. I will definitely have to follow you.

Forgive me if I cannot rate this quite as high as the other one. But it is still a very excellent piece.
