I love creating vignette frames surrounding my themes, particularly in an Art Nouveau spirit. I always hide details in these frames, additional anecdotes. It allows me to create a story in the story. The one I created for "L'Antichambre" is one of my favorites. Here, I chose a structured and Art Deco style at the bottom of the motif to finish with an Art Nouveau style at the top. This allows me to approach, in the same way as in the central image, the theme of the recapture of an architectural universe by nature and the theme of ruin (and therefore time, which is always central in the way of approaching the Other World).

"L'Antichambre" is an illustration I made for a French fantasy film project based on a script by Jean-Baptiste Garnier.
It combines the aesthetics found in certain Hotels Particulier in France and the codes of a door to the Other World. The forest is inspired by the magnificent "Wistman's Wood" in Dartmoor, England. And the ghostly Pre-Raphaelite figure in the center was embodied by Psyché Ophiuchus 🌙
