Today I stand
In front of the council
Today the end
Has finally arrived

Born completely average
The middle child
Of a middle-class family
I didn't stand out in any way

I lurked in the shadows
A shell of a person
With my books as
My only friends

Well, I do get a companion
She's ridiculously energetic
She just worms her way in
She was my only companion

But then in one day
Everything I thought
I knew became uncertain
It was the end of my normalcy

A brutal experiment
Conducted on children
Gave me a lifetime companion
I didn't ask for

An evil presence
Inside my soul
A disgusting weed
Growing in my heart

He whispered to me
Horrible, horrible things
I had to stop feeling
To make him stop

That was the end
Of a happy life
And so I slowly
Turned to stone

My friend remained
By my side
But she could do nothing
As I felt nothing inside

Despite my best efforts
This false peace
Would soon too
Come to an end

It all shattered
One fateful night
And thus came the end
Of my legs

I woke up screaming
I managed to lose it all
How was I supposed to continue
If I lost something so vital?

A mysterious deity
Appears in my room
And she teaches me
I have power too

Serena teaches me
How to manipulate
The world into
What I desire

And so that was
The end of my normal
Life and the beginning
Of a hero

With a new pair of legs
I fly through the sky
Protecting my city
From the threats of others

Aisha was the hero
Who could save everyone
Except for me
I'm eternally doomed

Every time I use my power
He grows stronger
Until the day I might
Reach the end

And now I'm standing
In front of the final judgement
I am finally at
The end of everything

My Life In a Nutshell
My Life In a Nutshell I (That's just another word for me.) I tried to reason with myself today. I lost. Reason won. I didn't give you a fair chance to run before you fell in love with me. By the way, why did you fall in love with me? Or did you trip over the last heart you broke and land in my arms? I saw the truth today. It wasn't pretty. Ditto. Yesterday I had a dream. You lost me. I found me. The world use to look so dim. Oh wait, there's the light switch. Damn, the light just burned out! The future looks so bright. No wait, that's just car headlights. I think I died and went to... Ah crap! Not you again. Weren't you

Once upon a time, I lost my heart, stolen by a thief who distracted me in the dark with sweet lies and opened buttons. I drifted, insubstantial, until I found my heart again, abandoned beside a country road. I picked it up and put it in my pocket, took it home, washed it gently in warm water and No More Tears shampoo, and put it back where it belonged. It hurt at first, its pounding loud, working furiously to infuse pale limbs with rushing blood, alive, but the pain passed and I smiled in the afternoon sun. Then you came. And my poor heart, pilfered once more, is lost again. But this time, as

Backstories are the worst part of writing any character because I always want to cry and comfort them afterwards.
