The end came and went
Yet the world still spun
Leaving behind its
Cursed inhabitants

A doomed planet
Ravaged by mankind's greed
Is a utopia for some
But hell for most

A girl is born
Her abilities examined
And so she was sent
To live in the outskirts

A cursed girl
With a cursed power
Living in a cursed city
Of a cursed world

Sent out to live all alone
Given only minuscule rations
She learns to survive on her own
And learns to deal with the torture

Once a month a false god comes
To take her from a difficult life
And so she becomes a generator
Transferring energy to the city's grid

Leaving her destroyed
Barely enough to go on
She is dumped back home
To try and survive another month

One day a boy arrives
Not much older than her
Thrown out of the military
For an injury that wasn't his fault

The half-blind boy
And the power generator
Lean on each other
To help make a new story

The two descendants
Of families that changed fate
Maybe they, too, can change
The cursed world they live in

Until then, these two children
Holding the hopes of their ancestors
Try their best to simply
Survive another day

You are the first You are the last You are the present You are the past You are my soul You are my light You are my life raft You are my knight New mercies each day You have given to me Because of You I believe Even though I miss the mark And sin pulls us Farther apart You make me strong You never let me go I know this because You love me so.

There are two things I Will never forget from that night: The horrible screams of people Running from their plight and The tears running freely Down my face. They told us nothing was wrong, Although their eyes were wide with fear. “Listen to me!” my father said, “Everything will be alright, Dear.” But the tears were running freely Down my face. “The ship’s unsinkable! This must be some mistake!” My mother’s face was grim And her hands began to shake. And the tears ran freely Down her face. I stepped into the lifeboat Not wanting to believe. I cried out to my father. He wasn

listen: fall makes me think of leaving and of apple cider, though i never liked apple cider. but i liked the idea of it. listen: two years ago i met a boy as fragile as dead leaves who called me his little spring girl. (i'd always liked autumn the best.) he kissed the two soft dimples on the small of my back and told me helikedme helovedme hewantedme. and oh, by the way, "everything good must come to an end." listen: on our one year anniversary we picked out two pumpkins and i drew elephants on them for us to carve. he cut his out so aggressively that it lost its shape. lopped off tusks and broken trunks became just a large, jagged ho
