HIM (Powerpuff Family Photos) by Yet-One-More-Idiot HIM (Powerpuff Family Photos) by Yet-One-More-Idiot
The next in my seemingly continuous (but actually merely continual) stream of Powerpuff Family Photos commissions, this one is of HIM!

Why, you may ask, is HIM making an appearance in this commission series? And why is HIM not dressed all in red from head to very pointy toe? And why do I keep typing HIM's name in bold majuscule (block caps)? Well, the answers are quite simple; allow me to take them one at a time...

Firstly, HIM is one of the "biological" fathers of the Rowdyruff Boys. Sure, Mojo Jojo created the boys out of snips, snails, a puppy dog's tail, and some Chemical X-laden water from the prison toilet (editor's note: Eww...), but after Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup defeated them by giving them a kiss that made the boys explode, it was HIM who resurrected them with his demonic powers, and who taught them to be even more evil than before (and made them immune to the girls' kisses, to boot). So he's like a co-father to the boys in that sense.

Secondly, what's up with his look here? Well to be quite honest...I preferred the look of HIM as he was depicted in the anime series, "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z!" (where he was known as Kare, and referred to as such in fan-subs of the show too, but was translated in the official English dub as HIM). I feel like he looked and behaved way more believably as a credible nemesis to the girls than HIM from the Cartoon Network series (the original one, I still haven't seen any of the reboot series yet), though you're quite welcome to disagree with me on that. He is an ancient and powerful demon; but now he also has familial responsibilities within Townsville, which are helping him to slowly come around to - well, not be good exactly, but be considerably less evil. xD

Thirdly, why do I capitalise and bold his name? Well like I already said, he's an ancient demon entity, I think his name deserves the emphasis. :evillaugh: It's been suggested that he may be Satan or some sort of roughly equivalently-evil deity, and that the mere sound of his name uttered would drive mortal beings mad!...so he's just called HIM instead. Who knows, they might be right. :P

I prefer the OG version of Him, but this is an interesting take on a more PPGZ inspired one.

you know for the longest time i never understood HIM

what the hell he was

or his purpose

or that his name was HIM till about 4 or 5 years ago...

and having watched yellow submarine, i think the main villain of that inspired the creation of HIM

As I wrote below, He is actually indeed confirmed to be partially inspired by the Blue Meanie character. McCracken is a "Yellow Submarine" fan.

Really? Huh, I always assumed that he was inspired as a really camp depiction of Satan.... :)

Hope you like this pic though! ^^

it wasnt until i was actually told that his name was HIM that i even realized he was supposed to be male

because of the voice i always assumed it was a woman

its also occured to me that there are not many female antagonists in the powerpuff girl

i can think of three of the top of my head, Princess, that lady with the hair, and that lady with the susan b anthony coin obsession

Yes, they are just about the only three female antagonists in the Powerpuff Girls, as you say - Princess Morebucks, Sedusa (the one with the snake-hair), and Femme Fatale (the Susan B Anthony coin obsession and who thinks that the PPG should support her in her criminally-insane anti-male crusades). :)

okay im all for feminism but if you're seriously going to go to the point of only stealing currency with one woman on it...then 1, you need help, 2...you need help, and THREE...ITS STILL A CRIME

Lol, exactly - Femme Fatale claimed to be all about feminism, but really she was a very one-dimensional villainess who just wanted to complain men. The PPG were able to beat her every time and give her a lesson in proper feminism as well (not that she ever paid attention to what they said).
