As assignment I have this week for school is about social networking. I had to look at an old piece I did that I think could use a redesign, redesign it, and then upload it to social media in the hopes to gain feedback comments about it, so please comment on it for me <3 Do you think it’s better? Worse? What did I change that you like or don’t like? Please let me know.
The "Grandma Johnson's" is the old design and the "Coffee Shop" is the new one.
Background on the assignment: Last year in my digital photography class we had to create some kind of food or recipe advertisement (I don’t remember the guidelines exactly). I thought I did a great job with the original, but the next week when the teacher went over the submissions I got absolutely ripped apart. The teacher really didn’t like that I covered up a quality photo with so much text and he didn’t like that the title was so cheesy/cliche. I was horrified and ashamed. When I re-approached it this week, I looked up recipe ad graphics on Pinterest and looked at it like an advertisement you might see on a cooking blog or website. They use the photo to lure you into clicking it where they’ll take you to a full-page recipe instead of trying to cram the whole recipe onto the graphic. Before I was thinking more about a magazine page, but magazines aren’t nearly as popular as online cooking sites and blogs are these days so I think this is the better approach.
