Description
The weather widget is not receiving data as of 17th October 2023, this is being fixed now.
A bit of steampunk art on your desktop. This is my steampunk Weather Widget created in Photoshop and pulled into life using XML, javascript and the Yahoo widget engine.
This is NOT the latest version. The latest version is here:
www.deviantart.com/yereverluvi…
Steampunked by me, my code enhanced by Harry Whitfield with kind permission of Bogdan Irimia. Displays local air pressure, temperature and humidity, as well as the general weather outlook in hundreds of cities around the world.
This widget requires Yahoo widgets to operate. Download yahoo widgets from here: s15.zetaboards.com/Dead_Widget…
The Mac version of the Yahoo widget engine is here:
s15.zetaboards.com/Dead_Widget…
This widget works with Windows XP SP3 and has been tested on Vista, Windows 7, 10 and Mac OS/X.
Latest version includes the following changes : As well as a reskin a twenty-four hour clock has been added to the circumference of the weather gauge . Other minor changes include: Changed all the calculations of the pointer angles to use simpler calculations saving cpu time; separated the .kon file and .js; animated the pointers to count down on startup; added code to allow widget to be resized; fixed some translations ; changed the default location to London Heathrow; added 'vitality' to the dock icon, animated the temperature gauge switch-over. Added sounds to all the major functions. It sounds and looks 'real'.

Hope you have as much fun with this widget as I do.

Instructions for running Yahoo widgets on Mac OS/X, all recent versions including Sierra.
Edit the following file:
com.yahoo.widgetengine.plist which is in /Users/xxx/Library/Preferences. Look for these lines: <key>DockOpen</key>
<string>false</string>
Change to false if it is true.
Then you should be able to start Yahoo! Widgets and the menubar item should appear. Widgets can then be started from the menubar or by double-clicking them in the usual way.
