Created in co-operation with small brown dog, using his Hawker Hound and JU885z images. The box-tops were recreated in Photoshop CS from scratch using suitable artwork, stock and fonts as well as the Airfix logo.

I modeled prolifically from an early age right up until about 13.
I did model again with my kids in the early 90's but these were mainly Japanese kits and I branched off to Warhammer figures because I enjoyed the painting but this was always secondary to PC graphics by this time.
I must have got quite into as I bought my own airbrush (my wife was always using hers) I made up a manifold so we could run two at a time and a large extracting spray booth.

I understand, entirely. It is a slick marketing job though. Red is a positive colour that really stands out, you'll know where the Airfix kits are in the shop. The Airfix logo is massive and makes a serious point. The little paint-pot layer tells what is inside visually whilst the fighting aircraft image is still prominent, if no longer dominant.
