This style or "Genre" of Art isn't getting anywhere near the recognition that it deserves.
Yes it is influenced by Anime and Japanese Comics.

Many Impressionists and Post-Impressionists grooved on Japanese Prints.
If you had a time machine and you showed some of this stuff in the age of Art Nouveau or even Pop-Art it would have made a big splash.
Sadly, one thing that holds many back from being well-known today, is that there is so much talent around...
