153 million years ago, in what is now Colorado, USA, a mother Palaeopteryx thomsoni grabs one of her chicks that fell from the nest. This primitive paravian raises her chicks in pairs, with the male and female helping with raising their descendance together. However, this female cannot leave this newborn alone in the forest floor, as very nearby a pair of juvenile Marshosaurus wander around in search of easy food.
