BACKSTORY:
Ratchet was born and raised in the same village as Orion and Dion, the three of them, plus Elita and Ironhide were the only children in the entire village, the son being the village doctor, Ratchet always lied to his friends that he wanted to become a Knight of Iacon, he he only said that this was his dream so as not to disappoint his friends, since his true dream was to follow in his mother's footsteps in medicine, so since he was little, his mother was already teaching him the basics of medicine, during his pre-school years. -adolescence, Ratchet spent entire afternoons and evenings in the village library, and when he wasn't locked in the library cramming himself with books, he was being dragged by Orion to some crazy game/adventure that would end up getting them into trouble.

When Orion was summoned to become the new Knight Prime, Ratchet reluctantly went along with Orion and the others to also become a Knight. Ratchet was never interested in fighting and combat, he was always a pacifist and didn't believe in violence. Ratchet begged Ultra Magnus to stay away from the battlefields, Magnus ended up assigning Ratchet as the official field healer for Orion/Optimus' squad. While his friends became absolute legends, Ratchet ended up gaining a reputation among the Order as a coward, something that never really shook Ratchet, as he knew his own worth and didn't need other people's approval.

On the fateful day of Zeta Prime's coup d'état, all of Ratchet's fellow Knights were murdered in front of him by the military companions escorting them, Ratchet managed to escape even after being seriously injured, with him using his medical skills to compose himself. After the incident, Ratchet tried to return to Boltville, but once there, all he found was a huge crater in the place of the city, with only a few traces of some houses and bodies, that's when Ratchet gave up everything, fled to an isolated village. , even smaller than his native village, and there he tried to establish a new life, as the local doctor, where he stayed for a long time, even starting a family, with a wife and two children.

But everything would change the moment Ratchet received a message from his old friend, who until then, he thought was dead, asking for reinforcements for an unlikely resistance against Decepticon tyranny.
