Character: Cc - Code Geass (Artbook dress)
Costume made/modeled by Yaya
Photography by Paul Tien

This is the other costume I killed myself on for Katsucon 2013. I bought a 15 yard roll of this heavyweight dark red satin months ago and was just wanting for enough time to make this costume. Katsu was a perfect excuse to make a cupcake dress because I wanted something pretty to host the World Cosplay Summit in!

I made the templates for the butterflies and trim by cutting up the actual CLAMP artwork and sizing it up on the computer to myself. My friends Jessica and Megan helped me trace out the templates to make patterns, and together we transferred all the patterns onto fabric which I already cut and sewed into the skirts. Then I cut out all the trim and butterflies with a soldering tool, which took many days of breathing fumes and sore/burnt fingers. I also made the bodice, sleeves, hair pieces, choker, shoulder straps, petticoat... everything to complete this costume. I'll wear it again at Emerald City Comic Con next weekend! Yay!

And yet,...SCRATCH Lelouch; her dance partner's Sebastian Michaelis!

I wish Yaya entered the Katsucon 2013 Cosplay Contest as a constestant, because, that GORGEOUS red dress would've BEEN a 1ST PRIZE/1ST PLACE WINNER! It could've also been greater if she did a waltz scene with a person dressed up as Lelouch!!! >u< =) :)

Your cosplays are so beautiful. I really like how much thought you put into them and how each one is so unique and original yet true to the character you are portraying. I really like how you make each one with so much detail and how you have so much passion about cosplaying. Keep on being amazing!

Someday I hope to attempt this too...someday, hahahaha! :D (Big Grin)

How did you manage to make the details on the skirt... almost looks like stenciling work!?

Your wig is wrong...

May I ask if that was used in a sarcastic sense or not? C.C. has straight across bangs, not side bangs. I figured the "Self proclaimed queen of cosplay" woulds have that correct, even being the huge Code Geass fan I am I could not tell that she was dressed as C.C.
Wont-Let-You-Go's avatar
She does an amazing cosplay and all you do it bitch about the wig. So yeah she is called the 'queen of cosplay' because of all the hours she has spent in making her cosplay and the high quality craftsmanship. So even if you are a Code Geass fan I don't see you making costumes like this so stop bitching about a slight 'mistake'.

Well I figured such a full of herself bitch who considers her cosplays to be the best ever made would get such a simple yet important detail correct. I left a neutral comment about it. She could fix it in five minutes with a pair of kid sissors. And to be honest I think she and her show put cosplay in the wrong light which is all I have against her. Now as she says you must be prepared for the internet to judge you.

Wow if you want someone to complain about putting cosplay in the wrong light go to Jessica Nigri not Yaya. Plus it isn't her fault for how Syfy puts together the show either.

She says that using lots of sex appeal is bad but then goes and flaunts her cleavage. What really pisses me off is that she said it not to cosplay outside your body type, which I think is funny because she looks nothing like C.C.

i like you. you are indeed correct and i agree with you 100%. plus youre a hetalian so that makes it even better XD

She never said sex appeal was bad. She admitted herself that she uses sex appeal but if you can't get past the sex appeal then that's your fault. Cleavage is cleavage. Also I agree that you shouldn't cosplay outside your body type because you will be criticized and ridiculed by the internet. You should know you own limitations and also Cleavage.

did those hems get stuck onto anything while you were wearing it?
All of that effort was worth it. And I hope you’re very proud of what you accomplished and the enchanting photos it produced. Your CC is the best I’ve ever seen and you carry her elegance and grace off perfectly.

The hems are just to die for! So intricate and precise. Soldering tool, eh...?
