Steps of Light Pendants

*balthasarcraft wanted to see some of my wirework, so here it is. =)

All of these pendants are made using the Steps of Light pattern by Gayle Bird. The pattern itself is available at her Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/listing/108161518…

I've used different kinds of beads, here - glass pearls, glass stones, possibly some hard plastic though I don't think so... There's cheap craft wire in there, coloured copper wire, fine-gauge wire held alongside... these were all kind of experiments, and some came out better than others. =)

(The lowest one in the picture, red and gold with blue in the middle, is Iron Man inspired. =))

Ah, wow, those are really pretty! The wire-work suits the beads so well and I love all the different types of beads! I'm a big jewerly-maker fangirl so I love seeing things like these. :XD:

Thank you! =)

I made these quite some time ago, and I've been thinking that I'd like to get some better-quality wire to try making some more. I'm really glad that you like them. =)

They are very pretty! If I saw earrings like them, I'd totally snatch them up and mix and match them all time.

Sunday's a stay-home-and-craft day, so maybe I'll try making some smaller ones. Hmm. =)

Sounds like a fun day. We're having a big snow day. Most snow our city has seen in about 30 years so it's the most I've ever seen in my life. :D The cats LOVE it! They've been looking out the windows all day. :giggle:

It's snowing here, too - again. =) Perfect day to just hole up inside and stay warm, drink cocoa, and be creative. ;) Sadly, I think my cats are just used to it, by now. They ignore the windows in favour of lying on the cat tree where the heater can blow warm air on them. =)

Yep, it was a nice snow day. Except our fridge started acting weird so we had to clean it out and cart things out in the foot of snow to get things slightly more prepared for when it can be repaired. A foot of snow isn't all that much but it's more than this city has seen in ages. They even gave up on plowing the streets so there may be another snow day from work tomorrow. :P

These are beautiful!  And very different from anything else I've seen.  You have an eye for combining colours.  Love the purple one second from the left, and both the ones second from the right (the Iron Man one is fabulous!!).  You should try making earrings.  This style would lend nicely to that application I think.  Definitely post more!    You underestimate yourself.

I hadn't thought about making earrings in this style - maybe with only three beads to lessen the weight... hmm. I might just have to give that a try! Thanks for the suggestion. =)

Gayle's pattern is really easy to follow, and easy to customize to give them each a bit of a unique spin.

Maybe I'll break out the wire and beads this weekend and see what happens. =) Thanks for the lovely comments!

You really should!    I can't wait to see what you make next!

Maybe I'll pull the beads and wire out, Sunday, and see what gets created. =)
