YandereDev has decided to disable the comment section on all of his videos on Youtube. I want to know your opinion on this.
The Following is his video description from his latest video "Where's Osana"
"After 50 months of uploading videos, I've made the decision to close the comment section. This is due to three factors:
1. Too many edgy teenage kids.
2. Constant spreading of misinformation / outright lies.
3. Moderating the comments is interpreted as silencing criticism. *Not* moderating the comments results in a cesspool. It's a lose-lose situation either way.
Well, there's more to it than that:
If I see a certain question persisting throughout the comments ("Where's Osana?") I feel obligated to make a video answering the question. If I see misinformation persisting throughout the comments, I feel obligated to make a video correcting the misinformation. If I see people over-reacting in the comments, I feel obligated to make a video explaining why they shouldn't be over-reacting.
In short...if I allow comments, I'll get caught in a never-ending loop of constantly feeling obligated to make videos addressing the comments I'm seeing. This would suck time away from development. I can't allow myself to go down that rabbit hole, so I have to cut off comments altogether, for my own sake."
