Black crowned cranes (Balearica pavonina) are a species of birds often characterized by a gorgeous 'crown' of spiky golden feathers.
Their feathers come in black, red, yellow, and white which makes for a bold combination.
They may only be seen in the wild in Africa, living near marshes or in the savannah. Crowned cranes are the only crane species that nests in trees.
Black crowned cranes are currently a vulnerable species, though not yet endangered.
 They are being threatened by human activity (habitat loss, poisoning, being hunted), as well as illegal trading for captivity and display.

Like all other species of cranes, black crowned cranes dance. Crowned cranes find their mate for life through dancing.
 Though unlike many other types of birds, cranes don't dance just during mating season. They dance at any time throughout their entire lives!

This Annie dresses graceful and has theatrical costumes of ballerinas. His colors are warm and soft, but he retains a certain sharp impression as he mimics his blessing's spiky 'crown'.
His outfit is embellished with extravagant gold and jewels which ensure that he does not go unnoticed.
