Just bought myself a black 3DSXL and a copy of that game, just to play it. x3 I couldn't resist anymore, especially after playing Super Mario 3D World for the Wii-U which is the gayest Mario I've ever played. I appreciate them playing toward the furry crowd with the 'cat suit' for the characters (yellow for Mario, Green for Luigi, Blue for Toad and Pink for Princess Peach), but to have Mario 'meow' after he says the name of the game in the beginning? Really? Why not just have him wearing Princess Peach's dress while they're at it? They already had the Tanooki suit, they didn't need a cat one just to make a nod toward the fandom.
I appreciate what they did, don't get me wrong, and I think it's really cool of them to do, but the way they did it just felt really wrong to me. Funny as fuck, but still wrong. ;3
I'm not saying I have anything against gay people. Far from it, actually, most of my friends are gay and they're some of the nicest bunch of people you'll ever meet. I'm just saying that Nintendo didn't need to go that far in a game, the main character of which already runs around in a raccoon suit and a Tanooki suit.
