Literature Text

I was walking with my husband,
During the month of May.
His name is Bobby,
And I'm Adam Galloway.

We were holding hands,
We were happy as can be;
And then we met a stranger,
And he said to me:

"Look here at the faggots!
You're ruining my path!
I hate you gay ass fuckers,
Now you'll feel my wrath!"

The man pulled out a gun,
He aimed it at my head;
Bobby jumped in front of me -
Poor Bobby is now dead.

I caught his falling body,
As the stranger ran away.
I lost the love of my life,
All because we're gay.

He risked his life for me,
For Adam Galloway.
His name is Bobby G.
He died for being gay...

I was eating with my wife,
We were on a date.
Her name is Sarah,
My name is Deven Kate.

We got kicked out for kissing,
So we approached our car;
And what we both had seen,
Was pretty bizzare.

Our tires had been popped,
Our windows had been smashed,
The back seat was on fire;
So we both had dashed.

We didn't get that far,
When a girl got in our way;
She said to us, "Now burn!
"We don't want to catch your 'Gay'!"

She had a lot of friends,
Who grabbed my wife and I;
They threw us in our car,
They left us there to die.

Of course, the car exploded;
And now we're both in heaven.
God loves my wife and me,
He loves Sarah and Deven.

I was talking to my boyfriend,
While we were both at school.
His name is Richard Tucker,
And I am Michael Stool.

We were minding our own business;
When kids came up to us.
They were yelling and screaming,
They started to cuss.

Ricky lost his temper,
Told them to go away;
One kid then said to us,
"Go die you fucking Gay!"

The kids at last had left,
Ricky was in tears.
Said, "I'm sick of all these bullies,
"It's been to many years!"

I tried to make him smile,
Tried to help him mend;
And after several hours,
School came to an end.

Ricky had went home,
He texted me that night.
He said, "I'm sorry Mikey,
"I can't keep up this fight!"

He said, "I really love you,
"Please do not forget.
"I am glad you've been my boyfriend,
"I am glad we've met."

I ran over to his house,
But I was way to late.
I lost Richard Tucker,
Because of all the hate.

I was with my girlfriend,
We were hanging at her place.
Her name is Xena Wilcox,
And I am Judy Grace.

Her mother saw us kissing,
She shouted, "You disgrace!"
She said to me, "Get out!
"I don't want to see your face!"

I left and then the next day,
Xena said in tears:
"My mother beat me last night...
Then cut me with kitchen shears..."

"She then called my father....
"My mouth was tightly taped,
"She then watched and yelled,
"As I was getting raped..."

"They said I am a sinner...
"Said I will go to Hell...
"They said they are ashamed,
"And that no one I can tell..."

"I don't want them to hate me...
"I want God to take me back...
"I can't take another punishment....
"I don't want another smack..."

"So I am sorry Judy,
"But now we have to split.
"We can't continue dating,
"My parents will have a fit..."

Her parents were both homophobes,
They thought she was a sin.
They punished her so brutally,
Left marks upon her skin.

I never saw her again,
For she had moved away.
Her name was Xena Wilcox,
She was punished for being gay.

These were a few short stories,
About the pain people are in.
Living in fear everyday,
Hiding back a grin.

Love is a precious thing,
Whether gay or bi or straight;
So lets try and stop this pain!
Let us end all this hate!

Be proud of who you are!
In the end we are all people!
We all have rights to be ourselves!
We deserve to all be equal!

Everyone now, open your eyes;
Please don't make a fuss:
Look at your neighbor, friend, and family;
And see they're all just like us!
NOTE: None of these people are real people I made up the names. But I have read or heard similar stories to these and so I made a poem. :)

*EDIT #3*
I love it when you all comment! I have gotten so many comments lately that I just don't have time to reply to them all. So if I don't reply don't feel bad, I read all the comments I just don't have the time to reply Dx sorry

*EDIT #2*

Thank you to everyone who is supporting! I really do appreciate it <3 but there are still a few of you who aren't seeing my point...the point of this poem is to try and end hate; so if the threats and hateful comments continue I will have to disable comments.
Feel free to comment your opinion! go right ahead! but threats and hate is not the solution <3

thank you for defending your opinion, but arguing is never the answer <3
I wrote this poem to help open the eyes of millions; and help end hate. If bad comments are ignored then the people making those comments will lose interest in arguing and actually begin to open their eye and see that hate/rude/ and negative comments; both online and in real life; are wrong <3
So no need to argue your point; believe and things will eventually turn up for the better <3

Please read!!

Wow! Over 2,000 views making this my best poem yet!! I didn't think it would get this popular thank you soo much for all the support!!!
Also, I know the problem is not only in america; originally I wrote this poem to show that in america "all men are created equal" and that isn't true anymore; BUUUUT since this is getting so popular I want the WORLD to feel appreciated so I changed it a bit to show that EVERYWHERE the lgbt community deserves equality and acceptance :3 thanks again everyone! Have a great and wonderful day <3

Also, I will try to reply to all of you who comment, just bare with me I've gotten a lot of comments xD

Im gonna get hate for this but oh well xD

Another gay rights poem, this time it's telling the story of four different couples who have had it really hard :'( Based on stories I have heard/read but none of these people are real people!

Lets stop the hate everywhere! Let us all work together to help everyone see that even though we all have differences we are ALL still people; and are ALL still loved by God! God doesn't hate, he loves us for who we are <3

Don't believe in God? That's fine! We're all still loved and deserve to live happy lives together <3

"Look at them, they are us!" ~Kiara

In my opinion, most homophobes are gay themselves and just deny it.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” - Genesis 2:24

I'm crying it's both sad and wonderful and so fricking true

You know, this poem reminds one thing: I'M TRULLY HAPPY IN MY SOLITUDE. My mom don't call me a sinner, because I don't want to be marry and have dozens of children. She's homophobic, like most EVERY man and woman in Russia is homophobic and TOO religious. In my case, cause I'm Asexual girl, it's better to not have coming out in front of her.

MainecoonLena's avatar

Yeah, but I keep it as a secret, so we didn't fight about it.

Your mother seems to have some serious issues. I used to be homophobic myself, because I was unhappy.

MainecoonLena's avatar

Yeah, but I keep my orientation as a secret. That's much easier.

I think some of the homophobia stems from Saint Paul's long visit to Rome.  In 50 AD he visited Rome, and wrote about it. He wrote about it in Romans 1. Paul didn't actually kill anyone or hurt any Romans over it, quite the opposite, he was decapitated by the Romans, Italy 67 AD. Ironic that he was writing about the exact culture that would later kill him, and all the other disciples. The date of Paul's death is believed to have occurred after the Great Fire of Rome in July 64, but before the last year of Nero's reign, in 68 AD. He was martyred. The Romans inherited their practices from the Greeks, who inherited theirs from the Babylonians, quite diabolical and evil practices indeed. Ritual sacrifice, sacred prostitution, and all the cults to their gods which have today defined our cultures and terms such as "Going Greek" referring to anal sex, especially if it was the first time for one of the participants. Supposedly, this is because love, between two men, was considered by ancient Greeks to be the ideal. It was called Pederasty, sexual activity involving a man and a boy.… at one time more common than heterosexuality. Like the Isle of Lesbos, it was a sex trafficking Island, Lesbian actually means love between a man and woman, not woman and woman but it's meaning has changed over time to mean women on women sex. History of the poet Sappho who made Lesbianism popular and sex island Lesbos ->…

Also like your name, 666 is derived from the number and mark of the Beast Power written about in the book of Revelation. The number 666 symbolizes the perfection of man's overall system that is separated from God. The first six of the number 666 represents the perfectly false religions of man under Satan's lead. The devil is the god of this world, and allowed to deceive mankind, until the return of Jesus Christ. (2Corinthians 4:3 - 4). The second six is for the deceived false governments of this world. The third six of 666 is symbolic of mankind's self-centered economic system. The book of Revelation was written by the Apostle John, and it was about Rome...but a double entendre for any governments of man.

Our world is based on governance, power, influences, and hierarchies. Yet words have power. I saw the significance in this poem in the lines... "God loves my wife and me," "They said I am a sinner...
"Said I will go to Hell..."

What Paul wrote that lead to his death was...

"Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. " Romans 1

For me personally I think it's true, God loves everyone, but not everyone returns God's love.  Just my two cents.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
1 John 4:8

Sometimes, with all the gay jokes going around, it can be infinitely difficult to explain that I am neither gay nor against people who are.
Life can be a real jerk.
Which is why there's a little thing I call 'revenge'.

We need to stop the hate.

Gay people are people too.

This poem seems a little.... Melodramatic

This is truth.

I don't care if my friend's a gay or something - they will always be my friend. Thanks for making this.
meanus's avatar
first you should stop spreading the hate yourself by talking shit about straight people...shitheads come in all types...including gays...nobody has a monopoly on being an asshole
PinelopiKirliaGirl's avatar
About that.
I'm not gay.
But I don't hate people who are.
'Straight' and 'homophobe' are not mutually exclusive.
I'd tell you to get your facts straight, but it seems kinda out of place, so...
meanus's avatar
just be so nice it would be impossible for most people to hate you
PinelopiKirliaGirl's avatar
I try to, but sometimes, I fail.
Thanks for the tip, I suppose.

Seeing your last comment I can tell you're being very ignorant. Things were really bad for gays, but thankfully people are starting to move on and adjust the past. "they wouldnt dare come out together in public" They have a right to go outside, it feels like you're threatening them to not come into public places. And who's talking shit about straight people?
meanus's avatar
so who attacked the gays in the poem...glad it wasnt straight people then
