She sat next to the window, staring out at the emptiness of space. Traveling from Earth to this new planet had taken five long years. With the planet finally moving into view, she was able to see the verdant green and deep blue of the planet's surface. It reminded her of Earth, and all those she left behind to come here. She sat there morosely, and decided to take a walk.
She made her way to the airlock and put on her spacesuit. She walked to the door, cycled through the airlock, and opened the door to space. She stood there: hand on the door frame, staring out. She felt calm and serene. Something out there in space had always called to her, pulling her ever closer. She closed her eyes, and the scene changed. She felt lifted, as if she was flying. She could see stars flitting past, cold trails of ice and rock arcing around her, and fiery clouds of gaseous material floating nebulously in the heavens. A scratchy voice broke through the silent reverie.
