Aww! It's the "Intense, 'I see something' schnauzer stare".
Usually happens when something of captivating interest passes by. And (in the case of my schnauzer, bronx) is often accompanied by a huge barking fit at the offending person/dog/leaf who dared to cross in front of his window.
