This may be the wrong place, but since you have your own successful fanfiction serious, I thought I'd ask here. I'm working on a Digimon fanfic on my own and I'm more than halfway through done. I decided to keep it off the Internet until I finish it. The problem I see is that, while it focuses on tight bonds between partners, I noticed that I pay more attention to human X human relationships. There is romance between two of the leads, and one character is involved with her digimon partner.
What I'm wondering is is any of that a bad thing? Is there any way to balance everything out? I've never really ready any digimon x human fanfics and in digimon fics romance is rarely mentioned. It's not part of my main plot, but it's still there and I fear that it might be distracting for readers (despite, out of 7 human main characters, only 3 are romantically involved with someone). I haven't read your series yet so I don't know how you dealt with all that, but I hope you have some useful advice and opinion, no matter positive or negative. It's always best to consult an expert.
I don't think any of that is a bad thing at all. And while DigimonxHuman relationships are uncommon, they're not unheard of (I have one in an unpublished project as well). Especially since it's not even half the group that's in relationships, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Romance isn't a bad thing, anyway.
