All lights in the streets of the Braeryn were being killed. Fire needed for creatures without the ability to see through the darkness were smothered out under a heavy darkness that seemed to pull away at the soul, and indeed, one could feel the necrotic essence of such thick mist. The closest goblins scurried away into the feeble shelter that nearby buildings of stone and other materials offered, running away from the killing fog that seemed to wither everything in its path. Every now and then, boots were glanced through the murk, figures that ran from here to there in uncertain patterns to the beholder, but in sure and certain steps to the assassins. For that was what they were – the figures inside the dark roiling cloud: assassins of the Zaknlyn, carefully closing every available exit.
