The Mockingjay: Breakdown

A simple 10 step digital painting breakdown of my lastest art piece seen here: [link]

This is for all you criticizers who think this is a photo manipulation. IT'S NOT!! I painted everything on solid color layers in photoshop cs5.

Step 1: As you guys can see I start with an outline of katniss's skin.
Step 2: Than I do some highlighting on her face and outline part of her dress.
Step 3: More highlighting, part of the veil and detailing in the top of the dress.
Step 4: Detailing in the face, hair and more highlights on the arm. Plus outlining the rest of the dress.
Step 5: Highlighting and shading the rest of the dress.
Step 6: Detailing the dress.
Step 7: Begin painting in fire strokes and highlighting the rest of the dress.
Step 8: Detailing more flames.
Step 9: Outline more flames and wing in the background.
Step 10: Finish all details on face, dress and background.
