Birthday Top 20 Video Games: Number 1
Number 1: Crash Team Racing
Crash has seperate spin-off franchises too, so this doesn't count as a rule breaker. Anyways, my favorite video game so far is my most nostalgic video game ever. Crash Team Racing has been a little over shadowed by Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing in the past so it wasn't very popular with the fans. When they did get it, they had a good time. Amazing visuals, great controls, ear soothing sound design with its rough and tough engine sounds and so much more. There are a few flaws, but I can't find them because I was too distracted beating the other competitors. CTR also has a story mode like DKR, except instead of an evil wizard pig, it's an evil racing alien from outer space who wants to take over the world and make everyone its slaves. The collectables are there and are offered through normal races or certain tasks. The character roster is pretty good, better than Mario Kart 7 and 8's that's for sure. Each character has different stats in whether which is

Number 2: Crash Bandicoot 3
Where do I begin with this game? Crash Bandicoot 3 was one of my very first video games I've ever played and I love it to this day. Crash Bandicoot 3 has almost every good thing about 3D platformers and took some of them to make them better. Power ups were introduced in this game and have their uses, relics were added for collecting and offered more replay value and levels have more vareity than the prequels. Not much else to say to be honest so I'll end it off with this, buy the remastered trilogy for a better time and a with a new coat of paint. Plus it looks better anyway.

Number 3: Pokemon Ultra Moon
Without a doubt, the best Pokemon game so far. Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon is an alternate storyline of the previous games and is much better if you ask me. There are tons more Pokemon to catch and more battles to have. Like the orignal games, HMs are taken out, island challenges replaced gyms and Alolan forms of Pokemon are still there. There are also wormholes you can go into to find rare and shiny Pokemon. Just get the games, they're too good for words.

Number 4: Donkey Kong Country 2-Diddy's Kong Quest
So far, my favorite 2D platformer of all time. DKC2 has more variety and heart than the original, and is better at being unique. The difficulty is tough but fair, the animal companions are as helpful as ever, the collectables are everywhere and the controls are extremely smooth. About halfway through, the game starts to hate you and your guts. Harder levels mean less sanity and more rage. The Lost World isn't a joke either, its levels are pure hell. I can't think of anything else to say other than the game's fantastic and I recommend it greatly.

Number 5: Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend
And so, the top 5 is finally here. What better way to start it off than to mention my favorite fighting game so far? I was hooked on the vanilla version when I first bought it, then I was more hooked on Extend when I got it 2 weeks after it came out and I got it on PS4. Now I have the PC port and I still play it to this day. Some mechanics were taken out and replaced with better ones. Overdrives were added in the game and are like timed versions of unlimited characters. New characters were added in both versions, new modes and a new storyline. Many people say that the story is about as convoluted as Kingdom Hearts, but I have no opinion about it. The online is smoother, the controls are responsive, Most of the characters are likable and the gag reels are great. I can't really think of anything else to say, it's a good game. Then Centralfiction kind of ruined it for me, it was just disappointing.

Number 6: Shovel Knight
Possibly one of the greatest love letters to 8-bit 2D platformers of all time. Shovel Knight has aspects of some of the hardest platformers of the NES library. The controls are responsive the second you press the buttons and swinging the shovel to dig burrows for treasure is good fun. The difficulty, like I said, is about as hard, if not, harder than the hardest NES games such as "Battletoads," "Zelda II," and "Ninja Gaiden." The map is reminiscent of "Super Mario Bros. 3" and it's a nice touch honestly. However, there are some moments that grind my gears to maximum overdrive, though I won't talk about them because I don't want to. Treasure is literally everywhere in this game. Up, down, left, right, there is lots and lots of treasure to be collected. You can buy additional power ups and items with the treasure you've collected. I would recommend Shovel Knight if you're in to 8-bit nostalgia and/or up for a good challenge. There are also seperate story arcs made

Number 7: Jak and Daxter
I was teetering on either Jak 1 or Jak 2, but I've decided on Jak 1 because I played it more and it's more nostalgic to me. After Naughty Dog left Crash Bandicoot because the contract with Universal expired in early 2000, they tried to make a new make a new platforming icon for the Playstation 2. Like Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter is a 3D Platformer and collect-a-thon where you obtain collectables such as Precursor Orbs, Power Cells and Scout Flies. There are also forms of transportation such as the flut flut and the zoomer that are needed for certain levels and Power Cells. In each level, 7 Scout flies are hidden in crates, if all are collected, a Power cell is obtained. The controls are responsive and the surprises are there at the right time. The sound of a Power cell, gleaming in its beauty is amazing and satisfying. All in all, it's a great game and I recommend it, buy the HD trilogy and the experiece will make it all worth while. Plus the oracle has 2 c

Number 8: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I love watching South Park and its nonsensical and political humor, so that must mean I love playing SoT too, and I do. SoT retains that same South Park feeling we know and love and turned it into video game form. It has its characters we loved from the show and kept their personalities in. The fighting style is awesome and the visuals are identical to the actual show. The voice acting is reprised by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of the show and other voice actors that had something to do with the show. There are a few flaws, though I haven't really looked at them. I recommend SoT unless you think South Park is offensive. I haven't played "Fractured but Whole" yet, so I don't have an opinion of it.

Number 9: Super Mario Galaxy
Many say that the original SMG is their favorite Mario game ever, I agree with them. I couldn't decide which main Mario game is my favorite so I picked this one for how atmospheric it was. There was so much variety in the levels and the visuals were magnificent. I'm still not used to the controls yet, but I'll get around. The beauty is astonishing and is amazing for an early Wii game. The challenge differs for each star from whether it was either simple or butt-kickingly difficult. However, I can't say the same for the sequel. People didn't like it for its easy difficulty and lack of innovation and when it tries to be difficult, it's at the secret world and the last level. Wholeheartedly, I would recommend this game if you're new to the Mario games or would like to play a breathtaking experience. Plus if you complete the game 100%, you play as Luigi and live the experience again.

Number 10: Touhou Youyoumu
I'm halfway done already, time flies when you're doing something like this. Anyways, Touhou Youyoumu, AKA Perfect Cherry Blossom was the first official Touhou game I've ever played. I was around 16 or 17 at the time I played it and I was too focused on dodging the bullets that were coming at me. I mainly play as either Sakuya or Reimu, the former shoots knives at blinding speeds and the latter has a hitbox the size of a termite. However the game suffers from a huge difficulty curve halfway through the game. Bullets come out of nowhere, fairies appear out of thin air and bosses don't take shit from the player. This is also the only official Touhou game to have an extra stage after an extra stage called a Phantasm stage. The controls differ depending on the characters you play as. Overall, good controls, awesome visuals, cool characters, NES level difficulty and in my opinion, the greatest soundtrack in the Touhou series make this an amazing game that I recomme

Number 11: Rayman Legends
Rayman Legends is one of the greatest platformers of the 2010's and I can see why, it was amazing. Great controls, visuals, abilities and so on. There are Teensies to rescue, bad guys to tickle, lums to collect and more. Levels with precise platforming and timed jumps feel better than Origins. Unlike said game, you have your abilities right as you're about to play. The secrets are well hidden and the joy is in there too. To be honest, if it hadn't been delayed, it would've been rushed and play like crap. Therefore, I recommend the game and you should get it if you have the money. I have nothing else to say.

Number 12: Mario Kart 8
Personally, I enjoy a good kart racer from time to time, and Mario Kart 8 is one of them. Great visuals, smooth controls (Not motion), good tracks and... an iffy character roster. Same could be said about the DLC, stop messing with the cloning machine Nintendo, are you being lazy or something? (I apologize for that.) Other than that, the game cleaned up most of the shit Mario Kart 7 had and put in better (some worse) gameplay mechanics instead. Either way, I'd recommend the game entirely. Though get the Switch version instead, it's better if you ask me.
