History: Zira had just given birth to her second litter with Scar, but the cub had been stillborn due to the lack of good food within the pridelands. Desperate to please Scar, Zira killed a weak Liara and was only able to steal two of the cubs, barely getting away with them as Jelani had returned during the murder and cubnapping. The two cubs ended up being Kovu and Vitani, and a grief-stricken Jelani took his remaining two cubs back to the Ndona pride and raised them as a single father. Both Runako and his siter knew about their mother's death and the kidnapping of their two siblings- so when their father found out kovu and Vitani were the cubs stolen from them, they were more than happy to have their siblings back.
