When a few members from the Ndona Pride had come for a visit, many were not happy as to the reason. Nala and Scar's second litter were of age where a betrothal was needed for them- and Scar was just as picky as when he searched for matches for their first litter. Liara and her mate Jelani tried their best to keep their four cubs- two girls and two boys as close as they could to them during the vist- others watching their cubs closely but allowing them to mingle, other parents caught up with friends in Scar's pride or chatted with Queen Nala. She had to send her youngest son to the royal den due to starting a fight with another cub, who was bullying him- the scene had grabbed attention from almost everyone, enough that Liara and Jelani weren't paying attention to their son Kovu who wandered off not caring about the fight like his sister Vitani and brother Ranuko
Kovu spotted a lioness cub around his age maybe a bit younger- but she had a tuff of hair like him? He walked up and saw her brightly smile "Hi, how come you have a mane like me?" He asked titling his head and watching her almost puff up her chest in pride "Cause I'm a maned lioness is what miss Sarabi says! I'm pretty speical and I'm pretty strong!" She smiled with pride which made kovu title his head, having never met a maned lioness before which they were rare "My name is Kovu, what's-" "Kovu! come here" Liara hurried over to her son with a frown "You can not run off like that in a place we aren't familiar with" she spoke nuzzling her son before noticing the lionsses cub he was talking to. She was about to ask who she was and say hello, when Scar came into view. Liara tried to move her son closer to her body as if to protect him from the Tyrant king. Scar though was quicker, smiling as he brought kovu close as he and liara sat down. The lioness was clearly not happy that her son seemed to have caught the king's attention but she also couldn't riks her pride being punished if she angered Scar
"Well now and who is this fine young lion cub hm? Shenzi have you made a new friend now?" Scar asked almost studying the lion cub who looked so much like his father, but in scar's eyes he looked like himself "His name is Kovu" Liara replied trying to sound polite, though luckily scar paid no attention to her tone. After a moment or two, scar looked to his daughter- the apple of his eye "Shenzi meet your new Betrothal Kovu- I expect you two to get along" Scar spoke as his daughter just smiled and crouched in a playing potision "Come on! You should meet my siblings, we can all play togeather" She didn't really understand what her father meant and neither did kovu as the pair ran off to play
"You, lioness- I assume you are the mother. Your son will be staying with us for a few weeks to ensure they get along. You can inform your king of the betrothal and if he refuses them. Well I'm sure he knows better than to refuse" Scar smirked seeing her unpleased gaze in her eyes "You and your family may stay as well during the time he is with us, regular visits will be set up."
