PRE-GROUP HISTORY

Janye, much like her twin brother was born under tough times to Nguvu pride, during an intense drought season Their mother, Jelani had been unable to conceive with her mate Themba, despite their best efforts plus the fact they were getting older by the days. Desperate to fulfill her role and contribute to the pride, she sought out a rogue during the heat season and became pregnant with his cubs. The fact she cheated became clear when the twins were born, and despite this Themba, bitter about losing his rank to Vaareth's new allies, chose not to divorce her. He would however harbored resentment and mistreated his mate verbally in private, maintaining a facade of normalcy for the rest of the pride. Jelani, despite being heartbroken that her mate couldn’t understand how far she’d gone for their role as a couple within the pride, understood his judgment, and accepted it despite their disagreements.

Both twins grew up in this tense environment, acutely aware of their stepfather's disdain. While Rashem developed a strong sense of resilience and courage, speaking up for his mother against his stepfather- Janye grew up to be more withdrawn, quiet and emotionally would shut down when verbal abuse was directed towards her. She'd often just look at their stepfather with a vacant expression and when he would finish with his harsh words, ask to be dismissed for her lessons at becoming a Healer. In private and in the company of her dear brother, she would let silent tears fall down- given their treatment by their father the twins have a very close connection to one another. If Rashem was upset, he would not need to say words expressing so- Janye would simply go and sit with him asking about what he was passionate about, that being traditions and history of their birth pride Nguvu. If Janye was upset but refused to say so, her brother would sit with her knowing that meant more to her than words, often ending up talking about her lessons and what she is learning from the pride healers.

The fall of Mitsu was shocking to many that a pride had fallen, and though Janye does not speak of it- it scares her to think this could happen to Nguvu or any other pride around them. The changes within her pride also have her worried but given the treatment by her stepfather the young lioness knows better than to speak her mind or what she feels she needs to. It is better to stay quiet and keep one's head down, that risk making things worse for oneself.

GROUP HISTORY

When Usta announced the games would be held within their pride, Janye tagged along with her brother Rashem mainly to watch and support the male who was, taking part in the wrestling matches for Nguvu. Despite she promised her brother she would attempt to be social and make friends, Janye still kept to herself throughout the games. It wasn't until the prides were getting ready to make the trips back home, that Janye met her first friend. A Rogue named Inawazakuwa AKA Zak- and who was unknowingly the half-brother of a usta lioness named Uhuru.

While at first her brother was very protective and even, accusing the male of being a ladies' man to charm Janye- the trio seemed to get along fairly well, enough that Janye and Rashem offered to vouch for Zak should he come to Nguvu in search of a place to call home. While they made plans for such, winter hit the prides harshly effecting Nguvu big time when it came to having enough prey.

On top of the lack of food within the pride, Mlima said word of an enemy named Hodari II who was threatening war on the prides- starting mainly with mlima. As nervous as Janye was to be at war, she followed her brother into the fighting to help heal the wounded- however the stress of the war held her back from doing her best, as far as Janye felt and she ended up badly wounded forcing her, to remain at the base camp to tend to those there while she too recovered.

While there, Janye was visited by the spirit of her now deceased father and told the truth on how everything Themba and her mother told her had been a lie- He had wanted to raise the twins, to be a father to them and now he would never get that chance due to his death. Before the war had ended, and while still healing from her wounds during the battle, Janye returned home alongside her brother Rashem only to discover his mate-to-was heavily pregnant with their cubs much to Rashem's joy. Despite the happiness, Janye confronted their mother about their father and at long last cut her off as well as Themba, Janye's stepfather. On top of separating themselves from their family, Rashem's husband gave birth to twins with rashem having found an orphaned male cub that the couple adopted making their family a happy one of five.

While Janye was happy for her brother and rose to the rank of Healer Main, she started to feel left behind and out of place - like maybe her brother didn't need her as much or at all now that he had his own family. Her thoughts also went to Zak who had promised to join Nguvu after some time in mlima - but that was before he had met his half-sister Uhuru during the war Mlima had been fighting with the aid of the other prides of course. What if he was happier in usta with his lost sister? What if he didn't need her either, what if no one did? It hurt Janye's heart to think that - why couldn't see find happiness too? Why couldn't she find love? Well it seems love was truly in her future, as Zak came as close as he could to Nguvu as he was allowed to and took to the trials to join the pride like a champ - despite it was far from fun and games - but it was worth it do doubt to be with the patched lioness who had his heart like no other, Janye.

Just when Janye started to lose hope and think Zak couldn't keep his promise, the rogue male arrived to Nguvu and completed his trial to join the pride much to her joy. It wasn't long before the pair began to court one another leading to the couple's marriage and attempt for a family despite, their own experiences with having neglectful parents and the poisoned waters threatening the prides. The pair were blessed with two healthy twins, a son named Jokautulivu and a daughter named Asali who carries a strong resemblance to her Aunt Uhuru - the half sister of Zak.
