Kiara is the first-born cub and daughter of Ataru after a brief fling with a lioness named Penda who was a cub-sitter in the pride. Despite she was not born from his queen and wife Farahi, Ataru named Kiara as his rightful heir- but Farahi saw her as a Bastard and penda just trying to grab for power. Due to Farahi's hate for Kiara and her mother, Banou was influenced to treat the pair poorly, but Marini refused to follow in her mother's footsteps and the pair had a strong bond as sisters. Their bond was born though during their teenage years, when Ataru was killed during the war against the Hyenas- leading Farahi to rise as queen and exile Kiara's mother Penda. She also forced Kiara to leave the pride and join The Night pride as a betrothal to their named Prince for "alliance reasons" but in truth, it was to get rid of the bastard cub she hated.
