Avannia was born as the result of an affair between The Ndona King and his mistress, though it wasn't a secret. The Ndona Pride is more tollerable of such acts as some lions are allowed to have more than one wife. However because her mother was not the king's wife and queen, Avannia is not considered a princess but holds a higher social status than normal lionesses within the pride. She is considered a simple Aristocratic like a select few familes within the pride as was her daughter Anala who was sent as a cub with a handmaid of her mother's to live in the Pridelands in hopes either she would become Prince Ahadi's mate.
