It was night in the Xotiathon dome when the winners of round one were all called to the main arena. The judges sat side by side on a floating robotic platform, accompanied by their ICH robots. The only lights in the vast, dark space were multicolored LEDs flashing on and off at random intervals.

Judge Slica by AlfaFilly :iconsaysplz: "Good evening, everyone! It’s a game of laser tag! Now, this round IS paired, and your robots will give you the identity of your opponent when we’re done speaking!"

Judge Suls by AlfaFilly :iconsaysplz: "After that, your robots will attach themselves to a convenient point on your body, where they'll stay put during the round. They’re going to act as your lasers! A thought from you is all they need to aim."

Judge Janie by AlfaFilly :iconsaysplz: "The robots are also the sensor points you will be aiming at. One successful hit is enough to get your opponent or yourself eliminated."

Judge Slica by AlfaFilly :iconsaysplz: "Be careful, though! You have a thirty second cooldown between shots. Also, your laser will only work on your assigned opponent! You can’t get anyone else out by mistake, but try not to hit other people’s robots. Good luck! Get hyped for Xotiathon!"

1. For this round, the arena is completely dark except for the randomly flashing LED lights embedded in the floor and walls and the faint illumination of the robots. The environment consists of various walls, steps, slides, ledges, and partially water-submerged levels. You may invent its exact features as you like.

2. Everyone is playing at the same time; after the judges' speech, each competitor will be informed of their opponent by their robot, which will then anchor itself to them, and they must then try to hit their opponent while avoiding being hit by them.

3. To win, your character must successfully strike their opponent’s robot with a laser beam. After being shot by an opponent, a robot’s laser is disabled.

4. The lasers themselves are harmless beams of light. They will not do any damage if accidentally fired at a person or object, but that will still trigger the 30 second cooldown.

5. Each pair’s lasers share a unique color listed in the pairings journal.

6. Opponents may physically fight each other or otherwise try to disable each other if they wish, but only successful laser shots count as a victory.
