Hello dear watchers,

today we release this new version of XPS for the public! While it has a couple new features i decided to stick with it's Beta name 'Outline Edition'. Check out below what's new!


What's new?

1. New Features

View and Camera Controls:
-> Adjust the background image in 4 different modes
-> Adjust the speed of zoom when using RMB or mouse wheel. Ctrl+RMB/Ctrl+Wheel for 10x speed, Q+RMB/Q+Wheel for 20x speed
-> Shortcut for storing bone position coordinates: Ctrl+C. To move a model to those saved coordinates select the model and press Ctrl+V
-> Assign/Remove HUD image


New Features:
-> Support for multi passes shaders and a new one which adds Cel Shading and Outline
-> First implementation of a new Format, which gives possibilities to future versions. I will add a explanation on how to use this format once it's more finalized. For now you can already:
---> Save any model in this format: Modify:Save NGFF...
---> For each material you can specify the following attributes:
--------->map_Kd diffuse.png
              map_Ka lightmap.png
              map_Kn bump.png
              map_Ks specular.png
--------->Backface Culling mode: None, ccw or cw
--------->Opaque (this is auto detected on export): Yes or No
--------->User shader;UsedTechnique from this shader
--------->Store Swizzle Coordinates for normal maps
With this format you can apply any of the above textures, meaning Diffuse and Specular if you want or just Diffuse, Ao and Specular. All combinations of these textures are supported without the need of a render group. For each mesh part you can use a different shader and/or change the backface culling behaviour. The format will replace the usual .mesh format in the future, because the above attributes are not possible to implement to the old format.
The NGFF consists of 3 files: .obj, .mtl and .arl. The OBJ stores the mesh data, the MTL has all material info, easy to edit in notepad just like the .mesh.ascii format, and the ARL has the Bone info. xnaaral.deviantart.com/journal…
As of now there isn't a blender importer available to import this format with bones intact. Also many features do not work with it yet so use it only for testing now.





Additional Updates:
-> All fields in ''Options->Camera parameters'' can now be operated with the mouse wheel in 4 speeds. Values are now typed in +-180°
--> Precision speed: RMB/Mouse Wheel+CTRL
-->Normal speed: Mouse Wheel
--> Fast: Shift+Mouse Wheel
--> Very fast: Shift+Ctrl+Mouse Wheel
-> Undo Item movement with Ctrl+Z
-> Modify-Change Mesh Part Color supports multiple mesh part selection now
-> Modify->Recalculate All Normals and Modify->Smooth Model have been added. They apply the effect to all mesh parts.


Fixes:
-> The Wavefront .obj importer does not require the model to have 'Face Normals' anymore. Now the .obj loader accepts "face normals", "vertex normals" and even models without having normals. If the Normals are missing, XPS calculates the Normals using 'Modify-->Recalculate Normals'.
-> A typing error on the shaders menu
-> A bug regarding all shaders when Saving images with Alpha Channel on

So I downloaded this Version and I moved my models to this version now when ever I click File>Add model And endless warning that has all my model names keeps going over all of my models The messages say Warning data/Models/''Name'' Contain no mesh file skipping... Anyway to fix this?

Well, any chance to see witcher 2 import script?
And Physique? I dream use xnalara with physics like MMD, but in mmd I can't use bumps-speculars-best lights and other for what I like XNAlara. :)

hey guys I'm having an issue with the models all there eyes are bulging out of there heads and all rotate and move set are at 0 could any one help please cheers:) (Smile)

Whatever happened to Ctrl+Click to move the models?  It disappeared with 11.5, and is still gone with 11.6.  It's a pain to move models about these days.

My keyboard has it set to Alt Gr+ Click. Much easier that 3 buttons at once. Took a long time to found out though, it wasn't on the manual.

thank you for the great update i was just wondering if there is any possibility to be able to zoom in and zoom out the background image in XPS too please so it will fit better with the scenes or the pose
its really great that now we can make the background image fits the screen but it would be also great if we can zoom in and zoom out the background too not just the models :nod:
and also it would be great if we have two options to make meshmods easier the first one is already in XPS and its wonderful
modify/export scene as mesh( merge all visible models) but still have a few weak points
it work best with models that are from the same game like ( The Witcher or DOA models..etc)
but sometimes i tried to merge two different models from two different games and i mostly dont get the same nice results when i use two models from the same game like as i said if i used two models from DOA and merge them the result is wonderful but if i tried to merge an outfit from a different game to one of the DOA body i wont get the same result mostly there will be some bugs in the new model even if the two models share the same bones name :(
thats why it would be great if we have to methods to make meshmods this new method modify/export scene as mesh( merge all visible models)
and the second one is the old method Options/add to ..... were we can  choose more than one bone to fit the two models perfectly not only one bone like the way it is now
i hope im not bothering anyone with this

My way: I load a simple plane ... like www.tombraiderforums.com/showp… ... and use the Material-Editor to appply the background image as "Diffuse Texture"... and use this model as "Matee painting model"

My way: If I use  two different character from two different games, then I first use "Modify-->Clean Armature" for both models. Then I modify one model ... using ths Only for Modder - New Pre-Version XNALara 8.8  tutorial  to match the armature ... and save the meshmod with "Shift+F11". Now I load the result and merge it with the 2nd character.
This works for me since ages ... without having trouble.  This model xnaaral.deviantart.com/art/Ivy… was made to merge "TR TRU" with "SC IV" and "TES Oblivion MOD (made from sratch)"

Hi, I have a bit of a stupid question but I'm still new to this program. I downloaded the 11.4 version around mid March, so do I have to replace the files or something? I just copied the models (not the default ones) from the data folder and my scenes to the new ones... I'm still keeping both XPS folders at the same time (previous and new version)

I got a camera glitch, after short time moving the camera around and then minimize the window, the FOV will slowly count up to 160. The result is a fish eye effect and after I reset the camera parameters the same thing happens again. Only restart XPS will solves the problem but after doing the same like I wrote before, the same thing happens again.

Sorry, You must be wrong. I cannot confirm this issue.

BTW: The maximum value for FOV is 130 ... so your Statement the FOV will slowly count up to 160 cannot be true.

It was a slight typing error my bad, yes it starts to move from 30 up to 130 just randomly. I don't know what this is caused by. I never had this problem with earlier versions. Just the camera was "stuck" sometimes and I had to restart the program. Actually last version that worked without any issues was 10.9.[...].0 but since version 11 nothing will run fine anymore. I didn't changed my system parts or installed different versions of XNA framework.

My GPU is ATI Radeon HD 3850 - a kinda older one but still performs fine.

would be nice if you could help. ;)

We can multi select in the add model dialog ... using the Ctrl key ... since XNALara 8.8.5 -- release 114
- it is now possible to add multiple models into the scene at once (use Ctrl click to multi-select)

Perhaps, you have disabled this feature ... by toggle "Config-->Preferences-->General-->AddModel mult-select" to OFF ??? ... available since XPS 11.1 -- release 178
Or by disable this feature in "Windows-->AddModel mult-select" ... available since XNALara 8.8.6 -- release 115
