Hong Kong Street

I was going through a backlog of deviations from BlackWhitePhotos and when this photo came along I paused, cause it captivated my attention at once.

The perspective from which it was taken is most unique, it allows us to look at a street from an unusual point of view. And there is so much going on here! There is movement of the cars, showing the business of the street, there are the tall buildings barely visible in the background, hinting that this is part of a big city (the title of course gives it away too <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>) and lots of fascinating details in the foreground. I love how order and chaos are all together, I am equally fascinated by the perfect curve of the street and the straight lines of the skyscrapers, as I am by the sharp edge of the building on the right and gap between the two buildings and the mysterious open door below. It makes me want to start exploring immediately!

The choice of black and white is perfect for this scene, the play between light and dark is very dynamic and calls for careful viewing to notice all the small things. Overally a very interesting work (which made me write my first critique ever <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="394" title=" (Lick)"/>)!
