On the Road to the Big Dome

I took a photo of a photo a friend took on a trip to Red Rocks, in Colorado. Yep, that's me, years ago.
This and other old photos always open to a wealth of stories and "mushy" memories. (:
This dome is a sixty-footer, and at the time of construction, was the biggest privately-built dome in the country.

This one and a few more pictures were posted in my journal for a bit - that may be why it looks familiar. ;)

Those big hills are gorgeous!  Must have been amazing, being able to wake up and walk out to a view like this.  What was the sunset like?

The range called Mount Greenhorn is beautiful indeed, and the sunsets are great. Very nice, but the sunrises were even better. From the dome, you could see across the entire Huerfano Valley to the Sangre de Cristo mountains on the opposite side, miles away, with their snow mantles turning pink and gold in the morning sun. It was a view none of us ever neglected to admire.

Sunsets are always my favorite, personally,, but that sounds like an awesome view.  I really appreciate you sharing these photos and stories-- it's lovely to hear about.

Thanks, I agree. Wish I had a better photo. Sigh.

I have virtually no photos.
Such is life.

But since 'digital', some,
thanks to Linda. :)
