Regarding the beak:

Honestly? Why not. The Mahakala lineage split off from the remainder of dromaeosaurids so early it could have evolved so many weird features. We probably need more like that. Oh, and pretty much all of your artwork is great!

Currently, I think none of dromaeosaurids had proto-beak, at least what is depicted here. Thanks for the compliments, anyway! :) (Smile)

It's just speculation and not the most likely, since this animal was rather primitive, and evidence of the existence of the bill is not yet discovered. I just was inspired by the works of C. M. Kosemen, among whom were deinonychus with the beak. From herecmkosemenillustrated.tumblr.co…
