I hear that this species may be related to Elaphrosaurus...
Xiphactinus's avatar
Maybe, but the material is too scarce to say.

What theropod did you base this off of?

It's hard to say, it's a very old work. It looks like something like an "average" theropod. :D (Big Grin)

Just wanted to let you know, in case if you've been inspired by my Fosterovenator's skull shape, this shape might be wrong. A smaller one seems more plausible, but I've just based it on an old skeletal reconstruction in the natural history museum of Berlin. So... If you're thinking of an update as well... ;)

Thanks for the information! The skeleton of what animal you relied in drawing?

Oh, forgot to mention... Elaphrosaurus. But the skull of that specimen seems wrong to me now.
Now I'd rather go with a small head: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…

My new favourite dinosaur. I think it may have been a carnosaur.

Thank you! No, this is ceratosaurid.
PrimevalBrony's avatar
Really? Because I've seen some studies say it's a carnosaur.

General material belonging to this animal like Elaphrosaurus.
PrimevalBrony's avatar
I've seen a few studies likening it to a carnosaur

Taken from Thescelosaurus!

Fosterovenator churei Dalman, 2014 Kimmeridgian (LJ) of Wyoming This is some kind of small theropod, based on a tibia described as ceratosaurian but more likely tetanuran, with a referred "fibula" that is potentially another tetanuran tibia.
