Since I am a Castlevania fan, I just had to do this.

I read this article about Castlevania Portrait of Ruin [link] and I agree with it. So I decided to do something. Since I am quite a fan of Ayami Kojima's artwork, I decided to emulate her style in order to do a version of Jonathan Morris.

I know I'm far to match her, but anyway it was fun to do it.

I dunno why, but Johnny seems a bit underrated as a fan favorite. Serious thanks for drawing this; he's one of my favorite Castlevania characters.

You are welcome.
It's a real shame the Castlevania people went a little TOO anime (the cheap kind) when they made Jonathan. He is a cool character, especially because it's kind of tragic and we all know how he end up. Not like they ever tell, but the destiny of those who wield the vampire Killer without being a Belmont is only one :(

It doesn't quit match with Kojima's work, but thats a damn good try at least. I've been sketching a few Castlevania pics and when drawing him, I try the same thing. Have you considered drawing Charlotte in a similar style to Kojima's? You don't really see much of her.

Thank you. Yes Kojima has her style and God knows I love it... except for the women.

Except the Succubus from Symphony of the Night, the rest of the women she draws has that dumb face expression, too manga or who knows? The guys are awesome, but little respect for the girls. :-/

That is true about her women, I never realized that. It's funny cause you would expect this more from a male artist.

There really is no strong female lead in Castlevania ever (no female Belmonts). Portrait was the closes, but Charlotte shared the spotline with Jonathan.

I did like how Kojima drew Yoko for DoS (link). It was much better than her picture in AoS (link). That picture was terrible. What about the succubus from LoI? Kojima had some nice pictures of her (link).

Yeah, the only other females were the Belnades clan who were magicians. Oh! Wait... Sonia Belmont! It was an old game but still.

And I still think the Succubus from LoI has a silly face. Kind of... the blonde chick, if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean. LoI's succubus did have a funny personality, nothing similar to SotN's succubus. That one had a more serious look.

Sonia Belmont doesn't count, she was removed from the series main timeline. Good thing though, her design was rather plain. I think they could do a better job than that.

I have heard the game is nice, I find this character Brauner an interesting character

Brauner is an amazing bag guy. I absolutely loved fighting him!

I like it when he says that Justice was probably not on his side, but he will never admit it was you their side. Love that quote.

I know, I was quite impressed with that. :)

I have to second that. Okay, sometimes the androgynousity (sp?) went to far (In harmony of dissonance for the GBA... Up til 3/4 of game I thought Juste was a girl >_> )
but it's far better than the boring anime style of Dawn of Sorrow (soma makes me shudder even now).
Well, I personally feel that Portrait of ruin had a tiny bit improved, but not by much.

Anyway, awesome colouring. Great picture

Oh yeah.

Even though the game sucks, Juste is a cool character.
Let's face is, Harmony of Dissonance became stupid when you have to collect furniture for no reason at all. A chair, oh let's collect that. I honestly thought it was for something more important than just decorate a room... In any case, it didn't help much the way Juste dress. His red coat looked too feminine.

Yes I'm glad you like my artwork. I have never played Dawn of Sorrow because I got to DS and no emu, but seems like a fun game.

Alucard still rules!

Who didn't thought that the room was for something more important? >_>
I just stopped searching after I read a FAQ on gamefaqs >-< Seriously...
Besides, this weird book-secondary weapon- magic system just couldn't compete with the DSS cards of Circle of the Moon.
Anyway, both of the DS games are excellent. Nice scroll graphics, very detailed castle, great music. and the soul sucking of Soma's just awesome. XD
Portrait of Ruin has a nice twist to it, now that you have to control 2 characters, but that thing's just a nice add-on. After a while, you'll just use Jonathan, because you can't do the necessary damage with Charlotte and just pull her out for some spells
Oh and for the first time is Death a REAL BITCH to kill... seriously, I've never ran out of Potions before o.O

And yes, alucard's awesome >.<
I just wish the secondary modes of these Castlevania games weren't so lame.

Death is really cool but always the same attacks.
I remember in Castlevania Bloodlines wasn't bad, you had to kill other bosses in order to kill him.
