Once, there was a jackal who would spend most of his time just wandering around the desert without anything else to do. While he would feed on the most cellular of ripe fruits and berries, or even hunt down a plump antelope, a hare, or even a tasty mouse, he still didn't care much about any of the other animals around him, preferring to shut himself in from what other animals would be doing. Jackal: I don't know why other animals bother to socialize with each other. No one ever wants to socialize with a jackal, because no one trusts us. The jackal continued on his way while still ignoring all of the other animals, not even paying mind to if any of them that would bid greetings to him. A Gentleman Of Excellent Character Claude Wayne Hicks was born February 25, 1899 in Greene County, Iowa. His father, Silas Wesley Hicks was born in 1854 in London, Ontario. Silas came to the United States and settled in Chicago where he met Anna Delia Rand. Anna was born in Creston, Illinois in 1856. They married and relocated to Churdan, Iowa, where they set up farming and raised their family. Anna and Silas had nine children – Claude was the youngest. Eugene 1874-1933 Oliver 1879 Julian 1881 Jessie 1884 Beatrice 1886 Floyd 1889 Nina Rae 1891-1985 Lloyd 1894-1976 Claude 1899-1971 Claude went to Churdan High School where he excelled in all his classes. In 1916 he built a beautiful cedar chest in Manual Training Class. The cedar chest was given to me in 1984, and it has been in my bedroom ever since. This handwritten letter, which is kept in one of my scrapbooks, appears to be a reference, perhaps for employment, which emphasizes his excellent character and work

High Tea, a short story about two old friends

Highfield House was a 17th-century castle converted into a luxury hotel, offering expensive weddings and ... High Teas. I sat by the flickering fire in a comfy chair and tried to hold the ornate teacup as elegantly as possible. The teacakes were piled 3 tiers high in front of me, and there were slices of sponge cake and chocolate cake alternating on another plate. So, I finally decided to try this Inktober thing, but specifically in the form of ACEOs - 2.5" x 3.5" art cards. The media used is Micron pen.

For the most part I'm not using the official prompt list because my daily art is made to accompany my astrology delineations (which appear here in my journal posts), so the symbolism is specific to the astrology of the day. That said, today's piece does align with the official prompt of "knot."
