Romani Reference by Km92

A wondrous piece by the talented ... a reference sheet of my OC, the gypsy heroine and paranormal investigator known as Romani.

While she has many different iterations of her character, the one for the comic I have planned is as follows:

Born with the name Arianrhod, though she much prefers to be called Aria by her friends, she lived most of her life in the Roma Shantytown of the city of Golgotha. While her mother was romani, her father was Celtic, and left her mother soon after Aria was conceived. Her mother died giving birth to her, living just long enough to give her her name... Arianrhod, since she had hair and eyes of silver, like that of a moon goddess. Being romani, a majority of the citizens of Golgotha treat her rather poorly, but she tends to put others before her own needs.

She is a bit of a ditz, but she is no idiot. While her actions and mannerisms suggest someone who may be touched in the head, she's actually pretty smart, able to think up strategies on the fly and plan ahead when dealing with the horrors that lurk in Golgotha's darker corners. She has a fondness for sweets, especially custard filled bismarks, cats, and dancing, which she does to gain money as she is unemployed (at the beginning of the story... she goes into self employment later on). She hates tomatoes and shoes and doesn't like being caught in the rain. She's also not a good cook... the best she can do is roast things over an open fire. She does have some odd habits like getting into people's personal space and even taking things that don't belong to her... she returns them but is mostly just curious. On top of all of this, she is a stubborn girl, more willing to walk over broken glass than to back down from what is right.

She is a mage in training, specializing in wind magic, learning the art from her mentor, Jaime, or as she calls him, "Old Man Jaime". While she herself can use magic, her mother could not, so it is implied that her magic is from her Celtic father.

What she wants most is for her and her people to have equal standing with the rest of Golgotha's citizens... and to love and be loved.
