Thank you all!

1 min read
I'm very sorry that I haven't been here in a while. I kind of lost touch with the dA community for a while, and for a few weeks at least forgot about it's existence entirely!
I decided to pop back in today to check on any old messages only to find that I had 19 new favorites on a single image of mine, 'And It Swept Our Feet.'

I had submitted that I think in July of last year, yet all the sudden this last month it's gotten a lot of attention, and I have no idea where it came from!
But thank you everyone for your kind words and favorites, it really means a lot to me, and I'm just tickled to death that people enjoy something I did.
So, this is a thank you to all of you who watched and favorited me. It was too many for me to go and respond and thank each person personally, but I appreciate and truly mean it when I say thank you to every one of you!

This is an emergency broadcast.
A good friend of mine, :iconuglycoyoteng: has just lost her home, and currently has nowhere for her beloved animals (some of them extremely exotic) to be. She might be able to get some of her friends to keep one or two for a while, but her temporary home's owner will not allow her to keep all of them with her.

She's not going to leave her friends with complete strangers, so while it would be nice if you could take care of one for a bit, we're hoping to look into a more long-term solutions, so if you know of any properties or houses that are currently for rent in the area, and may allow pets, could you let us know?

[EDIT] Washington State, that is. Preferably near Federal Way or the surrounding areas, or possibly Enumclaw. [/EDIT]

Oh bugger.

My tablet PC has taken a turn for the worse, and after random graphical glitches, resets, and blue screens of death, it has finally gotten to the point of no return - it won't even turn on.

Well, it turns on, it just blue screens and resets right after the windows logo. Safe mode, too. I have no way of running any diagnostics on it because of that. Luckily I did all my diagnosing while I could, and after disabling every driver through msconfig, it still crashed. Usually it happened whenever I moved the laptop, which someone said that sounded like my RAM had came loose. I flipped it over and opened the RAM part of the case, and...

A screw fell out.
Not as in I lost a screw when taking the ram out, but as in there was a loose screw rattling around in there this whole time. I freaked.

I opened up the entire backing of it, took all the screws out and looking inside to see if I could find out where it had come from and if it was the source of the problem (I've tinkered around in computers before,) but there was no where for this screw to go. I still can't find where it came from. It matches the other screws in the laptop, so I know it came from somewhere, but it's too short for most places in there.

While I had it open, I noticed that there was another RAM-like structure in a place not accessible from the back. I'm not too sure what it is, exactly, but it seems to have a ground running over it. And on one side, where a screw was holding the ground plate to the motherboard, it has chipped. Not making a connection or anything. I don't have any solder, and am not sure if I should solder it back if I did, as I turned the laptop on while connecting the broken bridge there and nothing changed - so either it's not the full problem, or that last crash has done something to my hard-drive.

AND I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THAT SCREW CAME FROM.

I don't think I've ever done one of these memes in the three years I've been on this site. Usually, when this stuff happens at other places, they're so silly that I can't even begin to do them without laughing maniacally.

But I figure with this one, there's enough stuff people don't know about me that it may actually be interesting!
:icondesi-designs: was the one who tagged me. Although, I don't know who to tag myself. ;.;

Ten things about me;
Rules:
A. The tagged must post 10 things about themselves in their journal.
B. Afterward, they must choose 10 people and tag them and post the icons in the same journal.
C. Let them know they are tagged by leaving them a comment!
D. You cannot tag back.

Thing number one: I occasionally practice the art of fire-spinning, and own my own poi set. (What is poi? www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG2CIS…)
Thing number two: I only have two fears in this world. One is acrophobia, which has caused me to freeze completely solid on a stairway before, and is a bad pair with my love of climbing. The other is furbies. I am not even kidding.
Thing number three: I am the queen of faux pas. Awkward silences are my daily conversations.
Thing number four: A friend of mine went to an art institute and is now an art designer for a game company, and ever since them I've wanted to do the same, even though my artistry will never be good enough.
Thing number five: I've wanted to be a mechanic before, for the sole reason of loving the smell. I also love the scent of the inside of waterguns and cucumbers.
Thing number six: I used to be a huge anime fan until about seven years ago. Recently a friend of mine has resparked that interest by inviting me to come with them to MechaCon.
Thing number seven: I've been roleplaying (and literate!) since I was 12 years old. All my real life friends thought I was a jerk for being so politically correct, and so the only friends I had were online, where I almost never revealed my age.
Thing number eight: I had my first surgery at the age of ten, when it was discovered I had gallstones and required surgery to have my gallbladder removed.
Thing number nine: I am very proud of my grandfather, who was an engineer at NASA and a retired Air Force pilot. He also left a lot of his old documents to me before I could read, and once I could, I never could find them in their old storage.
Thing number ten: I am a complete sucker for gummi-savers. They are the food of the gods! Take that Ambrosia that strangely looks like jello! (Kudos if you have any idea what I'm talking about.)

I'll tag people later. Maybe. After I figure out who won't kill me for doing so.

So, after what feels like forever, I feel like drawing again.
Longest artist's block EVER.
Almost.
