| HISTORY |

    Born to a middle class family in Union City, David spent little time in his childhood around wild pokemon, his early experiences only involving the domesticated pets of his family and neighbors. Thanks to this, he grew up nervous around any pokemon bigger than a skitty or an eevee. Growing up nervous around pokemon in a school full of prospective future trainers made David a bit of an outcast as a child, but rather than dwell on that, he spent much of his time in the school and public libraries, his nose burried in books about the thing that made him nervous the most, reading everything he could get his hands on about the pokemon of Issho and beyond.

    As a teen, David was less nervous around pokemon, sure, but he still had no intentions to take on the gym challenge. Instead, his interests gravitated more towards studdying pokemon, and why were the pokemon of Issho so different. Sure, other places have shiny pokemon, but they were few and far between in those places, but Issho has not only strangely colored pokemon, but melanistic and albino, as well. It fascinated him. When he wasn't spending his time with his nose in a book, or on the computer, researching anything he could about pokemon, he was spending time at the local shelter to take care of them as well as mark down anything interesting he saw in those left behind there.

    Having lived his whole life in Union City, David ended up living through not one, but two disasters caused by larger than life corrupted pokemon, and it once again left him terrified, thouth this time, that was focused specifically on shadow pokemon. But... Sure, they terrified him, but everything he heard about the shadow virus told him that those effected by it were in pain. Was that why the malamar went on that rampage? Sure, he could continue living his life, nervous around every pokemon that growled wrong incase it might be infected, but it just didn't seem fulfilling to him anymore. He wanted to help them. Sure, he'd have to take on the league challenge, and face his own fears, but they needed him, so he was going to do what he could.
