Tora Kathaway and Zahra in a thick jungle where they'll eventually meet that little xenarthran critter.

Tora is obviously distracted by something else, though.

The sense of place is beautifully realized...I love the huge trees, the light and the small figures in this landscape.

The trees here are majestic! I love how alive and HUGE the forest feels. My favorite part is how you made the main focus so small so you can feel how small they are in comparison.

I like all the different colors you used for the forest, not just green and brown. And the characters are cool too.

I love the sense of space in this, how the trees in the background fade into this yellowed green-grey haze that gives a sense of the quality of air, probably humid. What program and brushes or tools are you using on these?

Thank you! I use Photoshop CS2 and a combination of brushes, some are custom but most are ones that came with the program (especially the dry media and wet media brushes). I also utilize textures, because I <3 texture. ^^

Cool, thankye, it's really interesting to see some people use the more "traditional" type brushes in Photoshop than the standard ones. I love the textures it creates versus the too-smooth approach that some take. (I do have to admit I have a bit of a bias towards Painter, though, paper textures and brushes categorized according to the real media they emulate=awesome)

Yeah, I've only stumbled upon a few artists whose smoother style appeals to me. I'm just too fond of texture.

I agree that painter is awesome for categorizing the real media style brushes, but unfortunately I haven't experimented with it enough yet to learn how to fully manipulate the tools or program. Besides, after re-formatting my computer I haven't got a copy of Painter anymore, so for now I must stick with Photoshop.

Aw, that is sad, if you do get another copy of it, though I encourage you to play with it!

Yes, texture is good, and I don't know why it's so appealing, perhaps because you don't see it so much anymore and it is new and fresh again. Plus it gives the eyes something apart from the subject to indulge in.
