I remember I was sitting in my elementary math class. An announcement came over the intercom. I didn't pay attention to it. Normally it was just a kid getting called down to the office for one reason or another.
I quickly realized this announcement must have been different. It became eerily quiet. Then a girl started crying. The whole room became much too loud. All over, kids were screaming and crying. The teacher quieted us down so we could hear the next announcement. We were all being sent home. We hadn't even been in school for an hour.
I still didn't know what was going on. Why were we being sent home? Why was everyone crying?

This will be the first-time ever in this club history. . .
Because usually we start our club contests in the fall. . .but because of a special event that's happening later this year, the next contest will begin right away so the winners will be revealed on that certain day!
The next contest after that will go back the way it was and begin in the fall of 2014 next year!

Most of you all must of know this by now. . .but this coming fall marked 20 YEARS since the most-loved stop-motion animated movie that we all know of and love "Disney's Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" very first hit theaters!

Showing in San Francisco!
Thrilling news: The Last Unicorn is going on tour!!! This beautiful animated movie is going to be in THEATERS all over the country and beyond! The first screening is in San Francisco on April 20th.
If you're a fan -- if you don't know what The Last Unicorn is -- and if you're even close to the area, you'll want to be there. Peter S. Beagle, the author of the book the movie is based on, will be there and it is his birthday! So it's going to be extra special with prizes, Q&A, cake, costumes, singing... I don't know what all. But it will be amazing, that's for sure!
And, it goes without saying, I'll be there. With my

Louie Schwartzberg has made it his life’s mission to use his cinematic artistry to raise the alarm for public awareness of the dire situation we are facing in the possible collapse of our taken-for-granted natural resources. The “colony collapse disorder” currently decimating our honeybees was the prompt for Louie’s new movie, Wings of Life, which at it's essence, is a love story that feeds the earth.
Disney is releasing the film on multiple formats and portals everywhere this week. The film is a cinematic wonder of beautiful cam

This week I received messages from two different people (through Etsy and Storenvy) offering to make a review of my work. They splattered huge statics, like having millions of instagram followers, popularity, or having done it before and making people famous. Of course, their generosity was conditioned by me agreeing to send them some of my work for free. While I don't object the concept of reviewing someone's work, I worry that this has become a popular way of scamming artisan crafters to give away their work for free with promises of e

Right now at a UN meeting in Dubai, authoritarian regimes are pushing for full governmental control of the Internet in a binding global treaty -- if they succeed, the internet could become less open, more costly and much slower. We have only 2 days to stop them.
So far have 40 000+ other people around the world (me included) signed the petition but we need 500 000 signatures. Please sign and share this petition

'Tis me. I love photography. Losing my external hard drive killed my passion a few years back as I lost 4 years of photography along with it. I am attempting to trust technology again.
I love nature. After I finish the basics at my local community college, I will be attending the University of Connecticut to major in Natural Resources with a concentration in Environmental Conservation. The vast majority of my photography will be in the nature category.
I also love squirrels. A lot. My boyfriend told me he would not be surprised to one day find a note telling him I had gone to live among them. I really love squirrels.

I'm clearing out a ton of stuff and I'm trying to sell it online and at a tag sale. If anyone is in the Milford, CT area, I have everything in this craigslist post and more that I'd like to get rid of. Please reblog and spread the word. My boyfriend and I are going to use the money we get from it to help pay for some trips this summer and maybe even a place of our own.
Thank you lovelies <3
Oh, btw, my Jack Skellington jacket is still up for sale. Size 40R, $120 OBO.
So the semester has about a month left. I've got bio quizzes, a bio lab practical, two natural resource lab reports, a 1st and final draft of a Mindbloom presentation, and then 4 finals to do. This all concludes on the 13th of December, the day The Hobbit comes out.
I will be doing nothing else until my stupid lab reports are done. I'm so tired of doing them. Gahhhh.
Also, I randomly got 44 page views yesterday and can't figure out why. My daily average is about 6, so that's quite a jump!
In other random news, my boyfriend and I just hit the 5 month mark and I've honestly never been happier.

So I ended up not going skydiving or to the Renaissance Faire, but oh well. I spent the last few days with the boyfriend and they were absolutely wonderful.
I'm off to study for my bio midterm, so hopefully I survive that. ^^;
In unfortunate news, the two people who were going to commission me for a Jack Skellington bow tie backed out. Well, I've only heard from one of the, but the other hasn't responded in over 20 weeks so I'm going to guess they backed out as well.
However! The jacket I have up in my gallery is for sale. It's too large for me and my boyfriend, and the friend I made it for has no use for it.
