Will you name your child 'Devil'?

No?

Then guess why there are fictional characters with names as Satan (wut, the Satan himself), Belphegor (from Hitman Reborn), Alastor (the one-eyed Moody), Akuma, etc.

...not to mention roleplayers. :|
*got shot*

Okay, don't get offended. But this is kind of... odd. ^^;

But , when they have the "devil" itself as their God(ess)(s), that would be normal,IMHO.^^

Saem here, I don't like it when people giving their characters bad names, unless it's a name code of an organisation or just a nickname. But if they give 'Satan' as someone's REAL name, even if the one is only a character he makes, well...

I myself think a lot before give my characters their names. I search for the meanings and place it this way and that to make it sounds nice. Name is a very important thing, at least for me, because it gives people the picture of the one called by that name.. :)

Aha, the same goes with me. :D I also try to name my characters with a meaningful one; as I found it interesting when I discover the meaning of of other characters. So I guess it would be better if I could my characters' name as interesting as they are. :D

Well, to know that some characters name are actually devils' name is a bit... awkward. ^^; Yeah, it has meaning, but if it is devil's...

Especially when the character turned out to be the antagonist. Seems his/her parents made up a wrong name. ^^;

It's very normal in the fictional world, anyhow.

But if somebody names their child with name such as "Akuma, Devil, Demon, Monster" and such in the real world? Pshaw, I unfortunately have to doubt their sanity, or less extreme, their naming sense ^^;

Yeah ^^; But in real world I recall someone who named their child with kind of 'devilish' name... read it on some blog. It's in local language though, so most people won't understand what does that mean. ^^;

Not unless they held some sort of grudge towards their couple or the child? Lol... :rofl: That astounds me as well.

But at least they have a meaning... Rather than those children or roleplay characters named with gibberish :|

Some sort of grudge... perhaps for MBA child? *shot*
Lolz somehow reminds me of... who's that Milo Ovaltine kid? xD

Ah, perhaps. That could happen in a country where they don't forbid certain names (at least Japan doesn't allow parents to give their children weird names, lol)

That Milo Ovaltine was probably just a parody character. I don't know who made him, though. But I don't even understand people who name their kids (or characters) weird things like Bayonet, Lyxrhys or other random objects or gibberish that really don't have insightful meanings.

Hmm... you're right. Bayonet? Wut, their parents must have read too much war films or were war veterans.
