Wyngro RULES -- Quick Guide

Fri Sep 29, 2017, 8:43 PM by Nestly:iconnestly:
Knowing what behavior is and isn't allowed in our group is a very important part of being a Wyngro member!  Make sure you read through these rules carefully.  Ignoring the rules of the group can result in a warning if you break them too many times!

Our rules are also much more elaborated on our RULES & ETTIQUETTE page as well, so please have a look!

Rules

The Wyngro community has a lot of rules to remember, so you might get a mod message every now and then. That’s okay! You’re not a “bad member”, so don’t worry. However, if you do, make sure you reply back to your mod message and DO NOT ignore it! Sometimes we’re simply reminding you of things for the future. All you have to do is reply back, letting us know you understand.

•Don't minimod
•Count your wyns (If you choose not to count wyns for an image, or didn't earn any, please list them as 0/# wyns.)
•List any upgrades applied in the description of the deviation.
•Reply to all mod comments.
•Follow the upgrade rules and requirements.
•Use one account for Wyngro activity. Wyngrew cannot be transferred between accounts.
•Do not post non-canon artwork in the group.
•Follow the wyngro anatomy.
•Draw upgrades like the upgrade image examples.
•Do not make personal subspecies npcs.  Both pixies and imps are CLOSED SPECIES.
•Do not post commision/ych openings to the group.  For more info, see the Commissions Journal.
•Do not post 'Looking For' submissions to the group.  For more info, see the Rattle's Rest Journal.
•Your wyngro must stay in Wynsiph (for now) They can try to live somewhere random in the wild though.
•Do not submit sketches/incomplete art to the group.

Warnable Offenses

Breaking one of the following rules will result in an instant warning, given in the form of a note from the Wyngrew account or a public comment.  If you get 3 or more warnings, your next warning will result in a ban!

•Submitting an approval to the gallery yourself.  A mod will handle this for you in the approval journal.
•Inciting drama around the group.
•Ignoring/disregarding Mod Comments
•Repeatedly breaking the same rule after it’s been pointed out multiple times.
•Insulting/Harassing a member or staff members.
•Charging currency (money/points) for wyngro related content. (items, characters, outside groups, events)
The trading post and commissions journals have separate rules regarding this.
•Submitting traced art to the group without proper credit/claiming it as your own.
•Blocking any staff member of the group.  This includes the creator, partners, sidekicks, and helpers.
(If you have a personal issue with any mod, please contact Nestly privately instead so the issue may be resolved)
•Hiding comments on Wyngro journals, Wyngrew deviations or the front page.
•Singling out a particular person or group in a negative way.

Bannable Offenses

You heard right.  Bannable.  Breaking one of these rules can and will result in an instant ban from the group.  Bans can last anywhere from 1 month to a permanent ban, so please be aware of them!
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND-- We rarely need to resort to banning and it's usually a result of bad attitude/making the rest of the community uncomfortable, or just ridiculous cases of someone not listening. We are very reasonable and forgiving, so don't panic about getting in trouble/banned.

•Receiving 3 or more warnings within one year.
•Making multiple accounts to participate in the group with.
•Promoting activities to members in the group that are illegal in the United States.
•Inciting major drama in the group/hate talking individuals.
•Being younger than 13 years old.(This is part of deviantart's rules as well.)

Discord
You can find the rules to our discord channels in the main wyngro discord server.  Breaking the discord rules may result in being kicked from the server, receiving a warning, or even being banned from the server or group entirely.  Kicks, warnings, and bans related to the discord server will come with an explanation for the reason afterwards via a note or direct message.  If you don't receive an explanation within 24 hours, please note the group for help.

Help! I got a mod comment/warning/ban and I don't know what to do!
If you've received a mod comment: It's very important that you reply to it as soon as you've read it to let the mod know you saw it. If you’ve received a mod message on your deviation, we’ll ask you to either fix the problem as soon as possible or remove the deviation from the group. Once removed, it cannot count for wyns, upgrade requirements, or any other group mechanics.

If you've received a warning:
Reply to the warning as soon as possible confirming that you read and understand the contents of it.  If you have any questions or believe a mistake was made, please reply to the warning and let us know.  We can't help you if you don't say anything!

Your warning should tell you what you did wrong.  Just try your best to do what the mods asks you, and maybe take another look through the rules in this journal to refresh your memory.
3 warnings in a year means the next warnable offense could be a ban.

If you've received a ban:
Being banned from the group means it's time for a fair bit of self reflection.  Understanding why you received a ban is very important, so take a good look at the reasons listed for your ban and the rules listed in this journal.

Things you can't do if you're banned:
Doing anything listed here may result in your ban being extended or even permanent.

Submit deviations to the group
•Make new wyngrew
•Purchase items/pets/character designs from the group
•Participate in events/group activities
•Join the Wyngro discord
•Offer in the Trading post
•Participate on the Rattle's Rest Bulletin Board.

We won't stop you from drawing your wyngrew during your ban, but any wyngro related deviations uploaded during your ban time can never be submitted to the group.  A full list of how unsubmitted art is handled can be found further down in the journal.  Failure to adhere to these rules and trying to be sneaky about getting around them will not be tolerated.
In most cases, being banned doesn't mean you're gone forever, so use the time away to take a break and decide whether you’re ready to come back or not.

Coming back from a ban - what to do.
When your ban time has run out, please respond to the original note you were sent and explain your situation and how you’re feeling ready to come back, and understand the instances of your ban.

Unsubmitted Art
If your deviations are not submitted to the group due to non-canon content, being banned, or any other reason, they cannot count towards any group mechanics.  Here's a full list of what you can't do with art outside of the group.

Don't:
•Count wyns
•Apply upgrades
•Complete upgrade requirements
•Earn stickers
•Count as participation in events/prompts
•Count for any group mechanics(learning magic, breeding, etc.)

The only thing you can do with unsubmitted art is progress your character's story.

It’s best to use your main account for convenience. Don’t be afraid of what your watchers think. The more art you put out there, the better! :3

With breeding (I keep getting confused I’m afraid) with free breedings, if we are to collab with someone will that take both of our free breedings away even if say I were to take the egg and the other get nothing? Or would they still have a chance to get a free egg of their own..? Thanks for any help I’ve been a bit confused about this for a while sorry

Only the person using their free breeding (the one who is listed as the owner of the bred egg in the breeding form) uses their free slot!

"They can try to live somewhere random in the wild though." Would that mean I could have my character live in the forest shown in the wynsiph map? (After they've aged up I mean)

Hey, quick question. On the trading post rules it says "Do NOT post offers for Novas or Art -  DO NOT make posts “I’m offering Art for Eggs/MYO Slots, etc”! That’s like walking into a market and shouting “I’m offering money for strawberries!” when no one there is selling strawberries! Just keep your eyes open on the trading post, and wait to see if items you want become available!"  Does this rule apply to things outside the trading post? Like for example, if someone made a journal saying "I'll trade art for this wyngro item" would that be allowed?

Also keep in mind that any trades done under the table are not protected by our moderation team, so this is an easy way to get swindled by somebody. It’s important to be careful about trading’s that are off the trading post for this reason.

Would someone be able to trade one of their original unused myo slots?

I'm afraid MYO slots are untradable and account bound. Unused MYO tickets that were bought and not used after the point we made them tradable are transferable between accounts (the user can note the group and check which it is. BUT if it was one of the original free slots, those are automatically account bound I'm afraid).

First off this is a mix of a question and a suggestion so I hope putting it here is fine. I was wondering why you aren't allowed to trade or gift the potions you get from Nova? It would seem like a good idea to have that as an option so then members could trade an unwanted/unusable upgrade for something they want, leaving two happy members. As it is now if you get a bad upgrade you've wasted a Nova. Also, why do the potions need to be applied within 48 hours? I think it would be nice if members were allowed to apply it whenever they want. Since Nova doesn't come around that often, an artist that takes a long time to draw/doesn't have the means to draw at that moment in time misses out. If members are allowed to hold on to positions they can also wait until one of there wynglings is old enough to apply it to/until they get a wyngro the upgrade could work for. I think doing this could make the Nova station a lot fairer and more enjoyable for all members.

Honestly the moderation for that would be nightmarish as we keep track of everything manually.

I'll help you out by making it in to a nice few points! Hopefully it helps:

- The potion is consumed upon use! You wouldn't know what upgrade appears if it was never consumed.

- The Novo game is a game of chance! You're not obligated to take part and will always come with risks.

- The limited timer is for moderation.

- Novo is a part of the trading post! Maybe this'll mean he'll be dishing out potions more often? It is a Mystery Pixel

- As the potion is consumed upon use, it is impossible to "hold on" to it, unless you like collecting empty vials (great for storing your favourite sappy drink!)

I hope this helps!

Quick question: If i wanted to move onto another account and abandon this one (but still leave all of my old wyngro drawings), could I transfer all of my Wyngro things onto the new account, and be able to continue drawing wyngro on the new account?

You could transfer any items to a new account, but any wyngro and MYO slots that have been added to this account cannot ever move.

When somebody tranfers an egg to you do you need to have an open breeding slot or is your myo slot 3/2?

Nope! Remember that a bred wyngling is not a MYO slot and so it would appear like 0/2, for example. I hope that makes sense!

I'm not sure if this has been answered for anyone else, but I'm curious;

Is it okay that we, as individual artists, have our own NPCs that portray an important part to our own plots for our own playable Wyngrew characters? I know it reads no subspecies, but still, I'd rather ask then worry the entire time. Like, other people can use the characters, but is it still okay that we can create our own NPC characters that's not just the official admin NPC characters?

I hope that makes sense oOo if it doesn't please tell me!

No, we'd prefer you do not make your own NPCs for heavy use in the group, as people have abused this concept in the past to avoid upgrade rules and MYO restrictions.
We ask that unofficial NPCs do not get uploaded to the group soley or be counted for wyns/upgrade requirments, and are kept to appearing as a bare minimum.

I am currently playing with ideas that will allow users to have more freedom with things like these, but until then, I would avoid it.

Oh. Okay. Well...the good news is is that the "NPC" of my own doesn't appear that much. I think I have drawn maybe one or two pictures with my character.

Bad news is....well I had gone and made her sort of (haven't submitted, but she's made nonetheless) as a precaution/jumping ahead.

I do apologize for the stupid question. I just felt that this NPC I had made could help my character have a flow to her life again. To help bring her up from the situation I had in mind for her. But if you say keep it to bare minimum to avoiding it completely, I'll try to do so (I'll probably fix it so that she's only mentioned in text more so than showing up in a lot of pictures). Sorry if I overstepped my boundaries, Nestly ;o;

It's not a stupid qustion at all! Just a tricky one.

I don't like limiting people on this rule. The problem is, is that it can just be abused way too easily. :[
Like I said though, I do have plans to help members have more freedom, especially with this bit.

Ok I had an idea to try and work with this,

I wanted to make a few NPC's to expand Faren's story to give it more magnitude.(ex: one owns a flower shop/cafe, another is a herbalist)
What if any piece that doesn't have mostly Faren in it(like 75/25), I don't post to the group?
Would that work or is that no good either? I don't want to end up causing trouble, but I reeeally want to mold my own side characters.

despite being here for a while I'm still a noob at finding info, so I was wondering...

If you earn an upgrade, say for example, one that requires something like this:
"Draw three fullbody gifts!"

or

"Draw your wyngro with a sweet tooth!"

If I have earned these upgrades, are they earned for all of them, or because they require extra art would you have to do these again? ;v;
Sorry if this in plain sight somewhere! ;n;

If the upgrade specifies the image should be of the wyngro getting the upgrade (ex "Draw the wyngro this upgrade is for doing x") then the prompt will need to be completed for each wyngro you want the upgrade for. If it just says something like "Draw A wyngro doing x" then it can count as the requirement for multiple wyngrew

If you receive more than three warnings for stuff like 'you aren't allowed to add this upgrade yet' or 'please change this thing in the description' and you fix it, would it be possible it could still result in a ban? Or does that only happen if you ignore the message and don't fix it? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, I may have misunderstood something in the journal)

There is a difference between a "mod message" and a "warning".
What you're refering to right now would be a mod message.

Warnings are a bit more serious and will be given out in the cases listed above.
(You will know it's a warning if you ever get one).

Generally: Mod message do not get you banned, no.
