Tank Mk IV Female by WS-Clave Tank Mk IV Female by WS-Clave
The Mark 1 Tank was the first in the world, it entered service with the British Army in WW1. The Mark IV had better armour than the Mark 1, and was made in two versions: The 'Male' had 2 x 6 pounder cannon and 4 x Hotchkiss machine guns. The 'Female' had 4 x Vickers machine guns and 2 x Hotchkiss machine guns. Both had a crew of 8, and a top speed of around 6mph. The 'Male' weighed 28 tons, and the 'Female' 27 tons.

This example is a Female of the Tank Corps, circa 1917.

In the name you called it a mark 4 tank, but in the desription you said it's a mark 1, I know it's actually a mark 1 so you might want to change that.

Ahhh...I've heard that the first tanks made were utterly hopeless...but some of the last almost won the war...

It's funny how improvements make a difference.

Yes, they had a lot to learn, and I think it was the French who made the next logical step, and made the more modern-looking design with the turret on top...

That tank scared the pip of the enemy and set a whole new standard on what is war, and also gave War a new symbol...The Tank....which nowadays is a crucial unit in all modern warfares.

Love your work btw!

Thanks! :D

It was a turning point in how people thought about conducting a war - the trenches were suddenly not a safe haven any more...

Awesome stuff. But ww2 tanks and onwards are the really nice ones even though pre-ww2 are... quaint.
