Writers-Workshop provides its members with opportunities to develop their writing skills through regular, diverse, high-quality workshops. These workshops aren't about competition: they're about learning, improvement and community. They're for everyone, from experienced writers to raw beginners.
Workshops run once a month, over a 4 week period (bonus time in 5 week months!)
At the beginning of each month, the workshop host kicks things off with a blog post. Members discuss the topic, ask questions and start writing their pieces for submission.
After the first week, the gallery folder will open for submissions. Once staff have ensured that submitted pieces follow the workshop guidelines, they're included in the gallery. Discussion and questions are still welcome! Critique also begins now.
Halfway through the month, the submissions so far are posted in the journal and everyone is encouraged to start feedback and apply the concepts that have been discussed to the submitted pieces. Everyone who submits is expected to give some kind of feedback to other participants, but even those who didn't write pieces for the workshop are encouraged take part in the critique and discussion of the submissions. (please note that submissions are still accepted this week, but critique is not guaranteed if submitted later on in the workshop month)
Finally at the end of the month, the workshop host posts a conclusion, summing up the ideas that have come out of the workshop, and highlighting some noteworthy submissions and critiques.
