Fennec fox: In love...? Him? by woxys Fennec fox: In love...? Him? by woxys
Fennec fox (vulpes zerda, fenek berbersky) from ZOO Olomouc, Czech republic :D

Name: Fennec fox (Vulpes zerda or fennecus zerda)
Location: Sahara Desert - North Africa and Sinai
Size: 40 cm long body + 25 cm long tail weight: 1,5 kg
Diet: rodents, insects, birds, eggs, desert vegetation (fruit, roots, berries)
Conservation status: Least Concern
Interesting facts: female fox gives birth to 2-5 kits and both parents then take care of the babies: mother does not allow the male to come closer to cubs, but the male still brings her some food | fennec foxes use their huge ears for good hearing and also for thermoregulation! | fennec foxes have fur on their paws, so they can run on hot sand | fennec foxes have black tips on their tails | fennec foxes are mostly active during night | fennec fox is said to be the only species of fox, which can be kept as real domestical pet | fennec foxes are surprisingly swift, as they can run fast and jump very hight | fennec foxes are the smallest species of all foxes
ZOO: in the Czech republic, fennec fox is kept in ZOO Prague, ZOO Olomouc and ZOO Dvur Kralove nad Labem.

I like how you made the whole photo soft: in colours, un light intensity.. Combined with his waiting/looking, it gives a very soft image.. even the in-love part isn't farfetched. Vision: 4.5/5

Originality. I don't get to see many photos of this beauty, and rarely in such an interesting pose. Originality: 5/5

As said before i like the softness you've kept. However some small details bug me a bit. The eye we see first and focus on, is heavily in the shadow. It looses soemof its impact there. Also you have a very bright spot in front of him, which doens't fit in the colourscheme. Cropping it out, would be possible i think. Also it would bring the eyes to a third of the shot and on a strong point. This would make the overall impact stronger.
But the colour-use and the dof are excellent.
Technique: 4/5

Overall it remains a strong photo, which leaves a good feeling when viewing it. Impact:4.5/5

You did really good with this. I really like how you got so up close to where we can see the details. Vision:5/5.

There are some people who have got pictures of foxes. However, this is a different type of fox. This is a fennic fox, and we can see different details. I also like how you
got the exact time to get him to lay down. This makes the details more stunning than ever. Orignallity: 3.5 and technique: 4/5.

This is the best fox picture I have seen including fennics, as foxes are my favorite animal. I search for foxes quite alot and this is,as i said before, the most detailed and best appearing real fox picture I have ever seen. Impact: 5/5

At my zoo they try to encourage people to help save them, because even though they don't hurt crops, animals, or such. But people still hunt them.

I Just Don't Understand Why People Would Kill Another Living Thing For No Good Reason, It's Just Down Right Cruel And It's No Different Than Killing Our Own! If We Where To Kill Something We Should Have A Good Reason For Doing So, Such As Food, And That's About It. There Are Times When People Would Kill Wolves And Bears Just Because They Where Going After They're Livestock, But They Were Only Hungry So That Did Not Count As A Good Reason For Killing Them! I Mean, Come On, There's Plenty Of Livestock That Can Replace The Ones They Lost!

Did you give it a "cinema" look with software or was it just low lighting there?

Cute! I would like to get a fennec fox one day. However, silver and artic foxes can also be kept as pets, especially the silver fox since it has been bred for domestication for decades.
