Lockheart Chp. 2 draft (critique needed)

Shin (now all grown up into a "young" man) overlooks a cliff as the wind blows his hair, and sees the ruins/remains of the once glorious kingdom of Iseldon.
(He has been traveling solitary, concealing himself with a hooded cloak for the past few hundred years. Some years he spent searching frantically. Others he retired to an isolated place. But had been alone most of the time. By now he had collected about two dozen pieces.)
"I'm still alive. I may be stronger than before but I still don't understand, why me?
(The Jewel fragments were very valuable. They were said to have special healing properties in certain situations)
As Shin traveled for a few weeks, he had heard a rumor of a town in the mountains which had many natural springs, one of which had unusual healing properties. Shin thought that possibly, a fragment of the Jewel of Lockheart had something to do with it. It would be worth investigating.
